I also think it WASN'T A GREAT IDEA. House cannot grow further, it's already a hit. But on the other hand i don't see what FOX could've promoted there. New Amsterdam, Jezabel James or Canterburry Law are series that disappointed FOX's execs.

I say the Super Bowl will have 99-102 million viewers and House about 25-30 million. I wonder if that would be FOX's most viewed scripted show in their history.

House is their one hit series and it can still grow slightly, or at least stay strong for 2-3 more years. Back to You would have been another good choice without the strike.

New Amsterdam has the worse pilot of the year (although I didn't see VL) so that would have been a waste, it will be canceled faster than Nashville if it ever airs.

Terminator is the obvious choice for what should have aired after the Superbowl.

Yeh, it was stupid putting House there. They wasted a good lead in on it, when it could have benefited T:SCC. Alteast FOX promoted it during the game though.

There are still two unaired episodes. A half hour show may have worked better due to the inevitable runover.

Had they waited to launch it after the Superbowl then yes. If it was midway through the run, then no.

But i just saw this about the strike:
This was sent today by WGA Presidents Patric Verrone and Michael Winship to membership:

To Our Fellow Members,

While fully mindful of the continuing media blackout, we write you to address the rumors and reports that undoubtedly you have been hearing.

The facts: we are still in talks and do not yet have a contract. When and if a tentative agreement is reached, the first thing we will do is alert our membership with an e-mail message. Until then, please disregard rumors about either the existence of an agreement or its terms.

Until we have reached an agreement with the AMPTP, it is essential that we continue to show our resolve, solidarity, and strength.

Picketing will resume on Monday. Our leverage at the bargaining table is directly affected by your commitment to our cause. Please continue to show your support on the line. We are all in this together.

Best,

Patric M. Verrone
President, WGAW

Michael Winship
President, WGAE

I say WTH is this now i thought it was over soon and now i read this.If the WGA doesn't take this deal then i DON'T support the writers anymore. The deal was good enough for the directors but the WGA hesitate anyone else begin to feels hate towards the WGA negotiators if this isn't settled intime for the oscars?

This is just union talk. I've negotiated collective agreements from both sides of the table, management and workers, various times in my life and what you see here is nothing unusual. I'm sure an agreement is all but done, and once approved by the WGA East and West boards, they will probably direct the writers to start back to work before formally having a vote.
