-Ratings Breakdown: CBS won this typically uneventful Friday, with a first-place finish in households, total viewers and adults 18-49. But not even cracking 8 million viewers in total or a 2-rating among adults 18-49 is nothing to boast about.
In the battle of the 8 p.m. game shows it was no contest, with CBS’ The Price is Right considerably ahead of the time period-premiere of NBC’s Amnesia. Take a look:
Friday 8 p.m. The Price is Right (CBS) Viewers: 9.47 million (#1), A18-49: 2.2 rating/7 share (#1)
Amnesia (NBC) Viewers: 5.10 million (#3), A18-49: 1.4/ 5 (#3)
Compared to it’s week-ago debut (Viewers: 7.44 million; A18-49: 2.4/ 7 on Friday, Feb. 22 at 9 p.m.), Amnesia dipped by a hefty 2.34 million viewers and 42 percent among adults 18-49. Did NBC really think this game show could anchor Friday after just one telecast?
Also airing from 8-9 p.m. was a repeat of Fox’s Bones (Viewers: #2, 6.38 million; A18-49: #2, 1.6/ 5), which is scheduled to return in originals on Monday, April 28 at 8 p.m. ET, the first hour of the CW’s departing Friday Night Smackdown! (Viewers: #4, 4.45 million; A18-49: #4, 1.3/ 5), and a repeat of Grey’s Anatomy on ABC (Viewers: #5, 4.19 million; A18-49: #5, 1.2/ 4). Overall, Friday Night Smackdown! averaged a consistent 4.69 million viewers and a 1.4/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m.
At 9 p.m., leadership was mixed between a repeat of CBS’ Ghost Whisperer and a repeat of Fox’s House as follows:
Friday 9 p.m. Ghost Whisperer R (CBS) Viewers: 7.04 million (#1), A18-49: 1.9/ 6 (#2t)
House R (Fox) Viewers: 6.95 million (#2), A18-49: 2.1/ 6 (#1)
Also airing from 9-10 p.m. was the first hour of ABC’s expanded 20/20 (Viewers: #3, 6.54 million; A18-49: #2t, 1.9/ 6), the first of two hours of NBC’s Dateline (Viewers: #4, 5.95 million; A18-49: #4t, 1.6/ 5), and the second half of Friday Night Smackdown! on the CW (Viewers: #5, 4.93 million; A18-49: #4t, 1.6/ 5). The CW’s loss will, no doubt, be MyNetworkTV’s gain next season.
The second half of NBC’s Dateline won the 10 p.m. hour, with 7.74 million viewers and a 2.3/ 7 among adults 18-49. Comparably, that beat the second hour of ABC’s 20/20 (Viewers: #3, 6.53 million; A18-49: #2, 2.1/ 6) by 1.21 million viewers and 10 percent in the demo. Take a look at the two-hours of Dateline versus the two-hours of 20/20.

Amnesia's ratings make Friday Night Lights look strong by comparision -- at least FNL was getting about a 2 in the demo at 9:00. It also probably makes NBC wish they'd ordered more than 8 episodes of 1 vs. 100 this season. They really need to renew that show. It's always pulled strong numbers for a Friday.
Price is Right had week to week gains in viewers (9.47m vs. 9.36m) , but dipped in the demo (2.2/7 vs. 2.5/8)
I think one of the four weeks remaining it will hit 10 million viewers. I would do this Price is Right thing 6 times a year on Friday's each year.
Amnesia did awful. Hopefully next week is it's last. (NBC wont cancel it...yet)

You are right. I don't get what NBC has against this show. It has always been a solid performer in the ratings. If NBC does axe 1 v 100, SOMEONE should pick it up right away and place right back on Firday Nights at 8pm.
Nick at Nite acquired CBS’ off-net sitcom, Everybody Hates Chris, for a fall-2009 premiere, sources familiar with the deal said.
The show already is cleared in off-network broadcast syndication for fall 2009, with 52% of the country covered and deals signed with stations from the Fox, CBS, Cox Television and Weigel Broadcasting station groups.
Estimates valued the nonexclusive Nick deal at $450,000 per episode, including two minutes of national barter for the first three years of the four-year deal.
Everybody Hates Chris, executive-produced by Chris Rock and Ali LeRoi, airs on The CW Sundays at 8 p.m. and is averaging 2.4 million viewers season-to-date and a 0.9 rating/3 share season-to-date among adults 18-34, down 19% among all viewers and 18% among adults 18-34 from this time last year.
But few shows on The CW get much beyond a 1 rating, so for Nick at Nite, Chris is a rerun that will still seem fresh to many viewers. And with a dearth of available off-net sitcoms for syndication, Everybody Hates Chris has value that exceeds its paltry ratings.

As for Dateline, why was it missing from the schedule in the fall? It's still doing well.
The next four weeks of TPIR are all Million Dollar Spectaculars. So NBC really needs to move Amnesia to a different time slot, or take it off the schedule.
As for Dateline, NBC's really cut back on the number of airings. Remember when it used to be on 3 or 4 times a week? The ratings just haven't been as strong in recent years. Also, NBC News has been dealing with some pretty big budget cuts, so that could also contribute to airing fewer episodes of Dateline.

This show was all but ruined in a move to the CW. As were the other UPN comedies.
OUCH....for ABC! I don't understand why ABC may not renew Womans Murder Club. It was bringing in 8-9 million viewers a week. That doubles what they are bringing in now. Yes the demo is low but you are not gonna get a strong 18-49 demo on Fridays. So why not advertise for that older audience. I think its crappy for any network to jut forget a night all together instead of trying to find sucessful programming.
I really loved a Deal or No Deal / 1 vs 100 combo on Friday nights. Amnesia just..........stinks. That would call for a pretty sucessful night.
