I can't possibly imagine that CW or its affiliates would think that is a good idea. Moreover, 'the demo' for CW is 18-34, not 18-49 so I'm not even sure you would be helping them in that regard. CW is much better off programming to 13 year olds that will grow into the demo, just as FOX did years ago. What the CW does need to decide is whether they will continue putting their best shows at 8pm and the weak stuff at 9pm (counterprogramming against the way the other nets do it) or whether they will continue to try and make the 8pm hour their centerpiece.

I like the idea of a teen soap night that pairs up Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. Maybe that can be the new Monday night for next fall?
It is a shame that the Supernatural vs. One Tree Hill battle is in full force and with both groups attacking Gossip Girl and Reaper with every chance they get. It would not surprise me to see all four shows back next season. I read this morning that CW (and some other nets) had drastically cut back the list of shows they are prepairing for pilot season due to the WGA strike.

Really? What were the ratings for each show over the last 5 years?

Probably has more to do with syndication deals, etc. than anything regarding ratings.

Hey guys i've just said OTH performs better than SN, but let's be calm both shows will come back next season. That's if Ostroff still has a judgment beacause we all know she pretty much hates OTH

I can see an hour of these series together, either on Tuesdays or Fridays @ 8pm next season. More info on these and the rest of ABC's comedies from thefutoncritic here: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/devwatch.aspx?series=&net...dy+%28all%29&studio=and in case you're interested in all their projects, including dramas and reality, go here: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/devwatch.aspx?series=&net...ode=1&genre=&studio=
I'm really hoping these two shows will be good.
Me too. I really enjoyed My Wife and Kids repeats on one of our Fox affiliates here at school and Cedric the Entertainer Presents was one of several Fox shows that was thrown under the bus prematurely by Gail Berman.

AtJ had 6.3 million viewers last season to GLo's 6.1 million. Small difference, and several times GLo in fact got better ratings than AtJ. Beyond that, it's largely irrelevant because ratings from 2 seasons ago can quickly change -- see October Road, Heroes, etc. GLo also was the top show (period) for Hispanic viewers. I'm not a huge fan of either show -- my whole point is that it seems a very odd decision to make, they both have similar pros/cons.

In light of the development cuts at FOX, CW, and CBS, do you think these projects will be part of any ABC development cuts?

George Lopez was produced by Warner Bros where as According to Jim is produced in-house. If they had to chose one ATJ would be more profitable to abc.

That is not what is happening. All I mentioned was OTH/SN/SV were the best rated scripted performing shows on the CW at the moment. It would not surprise me to see Gossip Girl and Reaper on its fall schedule. And no one is saying that OTH is better than SN or visa versa. Peace!!

I'll take that as an indication that before last year, the ratings were not even close and that AtJ was far ahead. As another post pointed out, AtJ was probably the one chosen for renewal because it had greater syndication value at that point. marc covered a lot of syndication stuff yesterday and George Lopez was on the 'top list' as I recall. I don't remember off hand if According to Jim made the list.
