Boston Legal built almost 4 million viewers from lead-in Carpoolers. While it may not be a winner, it is certainly not a loser. ABC has done its best to hurt this show by replacing it needlessly (and usually without much warning) with news programs or repeats of new shows (most recently Cashmere Mafia). The show would do better with a decent lead-in and regular scheduling. ABC should consider moving the show back to Sundays at 10pm where it did very well.
Yeah with a horrible lead-in and the worst competition possible OTH is the best scripted performer for CW this year alongside Smallville. It's rather sad when you think it only gets 3 million. OTH might be a decent lead-in for a new show on CW, but of course that new show must be good if CW wants to save itself
Question- As a fairly new viewer of Boston Legal (only began this season, before that, once in a while)...can someone tell me if that woman who was singing last night during her case comes back often? She was a hoot. I never thought I would hear a random outburst of "Xanadu" in my life.

Anyway congrats for OTH this week
BL is becoming a modest performer for ABC.
Don't forget Supernatural. The best scripted performers on the CW are Smallville, Supernatural, and One Tree Hill.

While breaking the 3 mil mark is definately a good thing for OTH - I'd hardly say that it had the WORST competition possible this week. Idol could have been 2 hours, House could have been new...there are ways that the competition could definately have been worse.

Perhaps OTH and GoGi should go together...though I heard that last time OTH was made a lead-in it didn't work out too well.

OTH failed as an 8pm lead-in show. It has always pulled it's best numbers as a 9pm show. Even on the 2 hour premiere this year, it grew in the 9pm hour.
If The CW is determined to keep Gossip Girl next season (which is ... dumb), why not do a Gossip Girl/OTH pairing next year... against a male-oriented night, like Monday Night Football? Counterprogramming?

Peace!
SN is getting the same numbers as OTH with a lead-in that's three times biggers.

I really don't think GoGi would be a very strong lead-in, unless your thinking of picking up people due to a stronger lead out show.

She was on a couple of episodes last season, playing Tom Selleck's new wife.
Last night's BL was probably the worst episode I've seen, and I've seen every episode of both BL and The Practice. It seems that the show's writing has really gone down the last 3 or 4 episodes.
I dont think ABC is gonna move B&S to give the spot to an aging show that doesnt match up in the demos.

Yea, they should clean up against ABC's Male oriented Dance With the Stars, Samantha Who? and The Bachelor

Listen, I don't think GoGi should be picked up, but since The CW seems intent on giving it endless opportunities, it makes a logical pairing. With a stronger lead-out show of the same fan nature, it may pick up viewers. I can't think of any other shows on the net that have such similar fanbases.
Of course, I'm sure The CW will again put GG after ANTM, where OTH would (and has) perform better.
