I think this is really interesting to look at. Basically... Grey's supplies some women to Lost (I looked at an episode earlier this season where Lost did a 5.4 in A18-49... basically the key difference was that behind Grey's, Lost has more key women but slightly less key men, and it averages out basically a wash). However, Lost really has its own, more evenly skewed audience. Especially interesting to me is that Lost actually grew in W18-34 at 10:30pm. Are they compatible as lead-in/lead-out? I think the answer is no. They've really got different audiences. But as ABC hasn't had success harnessing the women Grey's provides with other lead-outs... my guess is we're going to see Lost at 10pm on Thursdays next winter/spring.

Please note this is NOT something I'm going to posting on a regular basis (probably never again... time consuming arse-pain)... I just thought it was interesting.

I knew GA has a bigger female audience, but frankly not at this levels

Just think about how big its female audience was when it was routinely pulling 22 million viewers...

Crusoe seems like a waste and just a spot filler. I don't see the appeal at all, and putting it on Fridays is going to kill it before it even starts going. Kath and Kim's success relies on whether or not America is going to understand Australian humor. If the writers try to "Americanize" it, it will be a lost cause. Luckily for Kath and Kim, it is sandwiched in between The Biggest Loser and L&O: SVU, which will inflate their numbers for a time. I don't see Kath and Kim going beyond 13. My Own Worst Enemy is placed well and will appeal to the Heroes crowd. Smart casting in putting Christian Slater in a main role. If one does go beyond 13, this will be the show.

While we are at it, The Philanthropist sounds terrible and will be dead before it gets started. Blue Blood has promise but my guess is the scheduling department of NBC will dump it on Friday to replace Life after it struggles for a few weeks with very little promotion, essentially killing the series before it gets off the ground. Chopping Block is a Hell's Kitchen rip off and will have about as much success as that Rocco DiSpirito show had. Merlin won't hit with the NBC audience and is best fit on the Sci Fi channel. It is Journeyman all over again. Zip is filler and won't last for long and Who Do You Think You Are may be in contention for one of the worst reality show ideas devised this year. The Office Spin-Off is sure to get a lot of press behind it so the numbers won't matter. I think it will do decently but not as big as the original Office. Man Of Your Dreams sounds interesting but doesn't really fit with any of their other shows. Maybe paired with Earl? Out of all their reality shows, only Top Gear sounds interesting and could break out. The rest sounds like Discovery Channel ideas that didn't make it on their channel.

Does NBC think this show is ever going to be a hit or even moderate hit. The ratings have been terrible on this show for two years now, and it should be canceled.
And to think that a 3rd season was ordered. I don't have to watch it, but it does prevent a BETTER show from being developed and sent to series.

But from the looks of it most networks r keeping alot of there sucky show because they did'nt have enough time to make pilots.

And alot of the show this year on NBC dont look that apealing.

Besides Knight Rider i mean.

Question: Anyone know where I can found the ratings from the 2004 Summer Olympics Games? It would interesting to know since NBC relys(sp?) on this years Olympics to launch its fall schedule plus I believe the last ratings from the last editions were down.

I don't have the detailed ratings but the Olympics in prime-time in 2004 averaged 25.3 million viewers. And those were recorded events. This time with swimming and gymnastics competitions live i think NBC will do better

I never liked CSI, and seriously--why should its ratings concern anyone? It'll run for years longer, until everyone is bored to tears with it, and most of the original cast has left.

I want 30 Rock to die a slow painful death next season, so its ratings make me happy.

Smiler

Most of CSI's original cast left? Not really, they're all basically still there.

Supernatural fans claim their show is so superior when ratings have proven time and time again that it isn't.

I agree. I just think that at this point in time, one must just enjoy the shows they like to watch and not worry about the ratings so much. Because isn't watching a tv show one enjoys supposed to help one decompress from a long day? That is what I always thought.

Peace!!

Every show is down, and so would CTH.

What yankeesrj12 said.

Look at ER. Look at Law & Order. It's gonna happen. Bank on it. Though maybe the whole original cast won't have time to drop out. CSI won't last as long as L&O.

Close to Home routinely beat Ghost Whisperer and even Numb3rs at times in total viewers. Its demo maybe wouldn't be much better, but I guarantee you the total audience would be around 2 million viewers higher and on Fridays, that's important.

That's absurs. C2H was getting bigger numbers than GW and Numbers. Now Moonlight is getting smaller numbers than those 2 shows.
Without a doubt C2H would bring 2-3 million more viewers, which means a lot in the year average for CBS

Actually that isn't factually accurate. There are very few posters here who like Supernatural who also don't want Reaper back on the air.

Will I personally like Supernatural more then Reaper, Reaper is also a program I like the only other show on the CW). And many of us have given the opinion that we wished both shows were on the same night.

But on a pure numbers game, total viewers, demo of both adults demo groups, tougher time slot. Supernatural is on average scoring higher then Reaper (that in an of itself, has nothing to do with an opinion of quality). The only point I can make as a Reaper fan is that it usually airs with a much weaker lead in. But on that, when it was placed with a stronger lead in (and against the same shows, or even with the full line up on Thursday) on average Supernatural scores higher in all three groups. Not only on originals but on reruns as well for all three groups.

That isn't opinion. That is fact.

Hell I hate Smallville, yet I ahve no problem stating that in all three groups it kicks the crap out of Supernatural in both reruns and originals.

Nor do I have any problem admitting that in the 18-34 demo Gossip Girls and One Tree Hill slaughter Supernatural (two shows I don't give a crap about). Or that as of this week One Tree Hill has a 30,000 lead in total viewers.

Thanks for your reply. NBC better be smart on how they are going to promote their fall schedule. Not that NBC is smart in that department Roll Eyes
