NBC has 2 very poorly performing sitcoms that should be cancelled: Scrubs and 30 Rock. Since Scrubs is being cancelled and 30 Rock, isn't; it only makes sense for NBC to try and prop up 30 Rock's future by giving it The Office as a lead in. The main drawback is that ER is now saddled with an even worse lead-in than it had with Scrubs.

It just amazes me how networks will hold on to a show just based on critical acclaim. The critics may love 30 Rock, the Emmy voters may love it, but obviously the viewers do not. Does NBC think this show is ever going to be a hit or even moderate hit. The ratings have been terrible on this show for two years now, and it should be canceled.

And to think that a 3rd season was ordered. I don't have to watch it, but it does prevent a BETTER show from being developed and sent to series.

But from the looks of it most networks r keeping alot of there sucky show because they did'nt have enough time to make pilots.

And alot of the show this year on NBC dont look that apealing.

Besides Knight Rider i mean.

The fact that Knight Rider probably has the best shot of any new show on NBC this fall speaks to their situation. Crueso on Fridays sounds good but doesn't sound like it has longevity. The Monday 10pm hour is a hole behind Heroes as too many fans go online afterwards instead of simply sticking around. Kath and Kim may be able to survive off the female demo power of the Biggest Loser.

Unless they significantly retooled Knight Rider and can convince people to give the show another go after a horribly reviewed two hour movie (which is an uphill battle), it won't last six episodes. Crusoe seems like a waste and just a spot filler. I don't see the appeal at all, and putting it on Fridays is going to kill it before it even starts going. Kath and Kim's success relies on whether or not America is going to understand Australian humor. If the writers try to "Americanize" it, it will be a lost cause. Luckily for Kath and Kim, it is sandwiched in between The Biggest Loser and L&O: SVU, which will inflate their numbers for a time. I don't see Kath and Kim going beyond 13. My Own Worst Enemy is placed well and will appeal to the Heroes crowd. Smart casting in putting Christian Slater in a main role. If one does go beyond 13, this will be the show.

While we are at it, The Philanthropist sounds terrible and will be dead before it gets started. Blue Blood has promise but my guess is the scheduling department of NBC will dump it on Friday to replace Life after it struggles for a few weeks with very little promotion, essentially killing the series before it gets off the ground. Chopping Block is a Hell's Kitchen rip off and will have about as much success as that Rocco DiSpirito show had. Merlin won't hit with the NBC audience and is best fit on the Sci Fi channel. It is Journeyman all over again. Zip is filler and won't last for long and Who Do You Think You Are may be in contention for one of the worst reality show ideas devised this year. The Office Spin-Off is sure to get a lot of press behind it so the numbers won't matter. I think it will do decently but not as big as the original Office. Man Of Your Dreams sounds interesting but doesn't really fit with any of their other shows. Maybe paired with Earl? Out of all their reality shows, only Top Gear sounds interesting and could break out. The rest sounds like Discovery Channel ideas that didn't make it on their channel.

My Own Worst Enemy will probably die due to the post-Heroes curse slot. Of course, NBC has yet to really put anything of value in that slot yet so only time will tell. I still say Medium is their best option there and should MOWE fail, Medium should go there.

I think this is really interesting to look at. Basically... Grey's supplies some women to Lost (I looked at an episode earlier this season where Lost did a 5.4 in A18-49... basically the key difference was that behind Grey's, Lost has more key women but slightly less key men, and it averages out basically a wash). However, Lost really has its own, more evenly skewed audience. Especially interesting to me is that Lost actually grew in W18-34 at 10:30pm. Are they compatible as lead-in/lead-out? I think the answer is no. They've really got different audiences. But as ABC hasn't had success harnessing the women Grey's provides with other lead-outs... my guess is we're going to see Lost at 10pm on Thursdays next winter/spring.

Please note this is NOT something I'm going to posting on a regular basis (probably never again... time consuming arse-pain)... I just thought it was interesting.

I knew GA has a bigger female audience, but frankly not at this levels

Extremely interesting breakdown. Lost really does have an evenly distributed audience in comparison to GA. Especially interesting in the drop off at 10:30 in teens, which is highly attributable to them simply going to bed.

I think Crueso is a limited series, so I think NBC probably just wants a time slot filler for FNL.

Quality-wise, true. Ratings-wise, it doesn't make a big difference.

It's hard to believe, but last year in the Thursday 10p slot on 4/26/07, Shark had 14.1 million. Better than WAT this year.

Question: Anyone know where I can found the ratings from the 2004 Summer Olympics Games? It would interesting to know since NBC relys(sp?) on this years Olympics to launch its fall schedule plus I believe the last ratings from the last editions were down.
