If SAG goes on strike this summer with the ratings as low as they are and the economy in shambles, they're dumber than dirt.

I think that with a recession and it's tough out there right now, the American public couldn't be happy that these overpaid writers were getting greedy. The fact is, the stuff they create is down 20% year-to-year in most places.

Plus, television is habit forming and many people realized they just didn't care anymore.

It's really bad for the business and really sad to see.

I love TV Week's take on all of this : DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, most shows hit season or series lows last night. See here :

http://www.tvweek.com/blogs/ratings-chart-attack/2008/0...lineup_slumps_as.php

Good for these greedy writers, they may have finally killed the golden goose.

Well that settles that. Better plan on them having another strike.

Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy did okay, with just mild declines, while Lost did very well in its return. We'll see how much that is offset by the Grey's overrun.

Ugly Betty: -4% among viewers, -14% among A18-49
Grey's: -9% among viewers, -11% among A18-49
Lost: +8% among viewers, +4% among A18-49

Russ are those percentages from before the strike or compared with last year? Seems like Ugly Betty fell a lot more than 4%! And didn't Grey's fall more than CSI?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Those are just drops from the last newly aired episode. I'll put together some pre-strike numbers in a bit.

Applaud??? WTH?
Kripke and the witches of CW completely destroyed a once great show, that had good ratings and a huge fanbase. A lot of fans not only online but also at home. A lot of families loved Supernatural.

Then genius Kripke and his friend Bella Gamble decided to change a winning formula into a soap for teenies.
Now it's too late to do anything. It's over.
Now they don't have to worry about evil online fans anymore and the actors can all get marry and have 100 babies, with no job in sight.

This panic is unwarranted. The show isn't "destroyed." It's not a soap. Grey's Anatomy is a soap. You're just bummed out because this episode got rerun level ratings. As for Miss Bela, including her full time was Dawn Ostroff's idea. She was forced on Kripke. Bela was only ever meant to appear in one episode. Yes, she's a terrible character. I agree. Thank the maker she wasn't made a love interest. She's gone next season. Kripke said so. She's not Supernatural's Lana Lang. She's gone.

Supernatural will be return to character based shows in season one style next season. All is well. Breathe. Relax. Switching from the WB to CW did more damage than anything else. CW ratings suck. Period.

Yeah and Route 666 the highest rated epsiode of Supernatural is so much better then this season. See if they only had more romance for the boys and evil possessed trucks the ratings would be so much better.

I.E. numbers that would make any Supernatural fanboy or fangirl wet his or her pants with excitement.

I just noticed something. Marc, didn't Lost average a 5.5 among A18-49 last night?

yeap, but we have been talking about so many of the shows hitting lows, so I thought I would add the other one. As you can tell in my posts I talk about how abysmal SN numbers were.

So when a character is poorly written it's the network executives fault? Roll Eyes

No, but part of the fault does lie with the network in the fact that they had to reshape episodes for a character that was designed as a one time guest star. And with the budget concern they had to get the actress in a certain minimum number of epsiodes or payoff that would come out of the budget of the show. The character tehy created and planned for this season they were able to fit logically within the needs of the planned story arc.

WOW!! Lost scored a 5.5 in the demo?? That's pretty darn fantastic. It climbed like 1.1 in the demo since it's last airing! This news made my day (or night, I guess)! Awesome!
