Chuck might be a decent candidate for relocation to NBCU's USA Network. It fits with shows like Psych, Monk and Burn Notice. It would have to adjust budget and cast, but would probably keep viewers around.

NBC wouldnt need to restructure if they made comedies like the ones on CBS. Okay, maybe they would, but it's one less thing they would of had to worry about. BTW, great job CBS for airing all your great comedies (not Worst Week)
Shows that are safe next year on NBC IMO: *Law and Order: SVU *The Biggest Loser *The Office *30 Rock (NBC needs to get over this show) *Deal or No Deal *Medium *Dateline *America's Got Talent (Summer)
Bubble: *Law and Order *Heroes *Life *My Name is Earl
Cancelled: *All shows that were already announced *Kath and Kim *Knight Rider *Chuck
NBC has definitely shafted Medium over the years - this season, for example. The show is a ratings winner for NBC, always manages to perform well, yet its not premiering its 5th season until February. What's the sense in that? No wonder NBC is struggling.
I think, though, that NBC wouldn't be stupid enough to cancel this show. It'll likely be back next season, and it could benefit from airing at an earlier hour.
Well, NBC is finally pretty Medium back at its Monday 10pm timeslot with Heroes as its lead in so there's that...
I get that NBC will have to cut some shows but I think we all that to think about Sundays after Football because that's 4 hours to fill up. I way I see the schedule forming is,
Tuesdays 8 - Condensed Biggest Loser (I think that would lead to stronger ratings) 9 - L&O SVU (Do they have to retool some things for the earlier hour? I mean House and Bones are pretty graphic and they are on at 8)
Wednesdays 8 - Either a new drama or if L&O can stay strong in its ratings, put it here (away from other crime dramas as well) as a lead in to, 9 - LAPD (The drama series from the ER creators)
Thursdays 8 - My Name is Earl? 8:30 - If 30 Rock can stabilize this season then put it here or the Amy Poehlar Comedy 9 - The Office 9:30 - The Amy Poehlar Comedy/30 Rock
Saturdays 8-11 - I hope they will try to program new stuff on Saturdays, even just game shows would be nice.
Sunday Football
Sunday (Midseason) 7 - Dateline 8 - (A somewhat estiblished show? I think Chuck would work well here) 9 - New Series? (I would say The Philanthropist but it seems to be stuck on Fridays for this midseason) 10 - ? Medium?
NBC says that they will have to get rid of some veteran shows. ER is already gone so what now? I feel it might be L&O (Unless it actually gains some traction against CSI NY this week) and Medium

That might actually work. How I sold Chuck and Life to my sister is that I told her that they seem like USA series, fun with quirky characters. It might take a while to get used to USA scheduling but it might work (For example L&O CI premiere on USA with about 3 million viewers and its last episode got around 5 million but of course Criminal Intent pretty much is a revolving 3 man cast now so I guess that;s how they can afford the show.)
Once again Worst Week has not grown. Two and a Half Men has grown, and WW has gotten its usual 65% of Men's growth. Give me Men's nunmbers next week, and I can tell you WW's ratings.

Yeah, and it would be doing even better if all the CBS affiliates would ever air the show. For the second week in a row it was preempted in St. Louis and Columbus, OH and a couple of other affiliates. Something about a CBS agreement where affiliates can show other programming at 8:00, and keep all the advertising income. It lost roughly 300,00-400,000 viewers in the finals the past two weeks with preemptions, while the other CBS sitcoms all aired in all markets. It would easily be CBS's second most viewed sitcom if the it ever had full coverage from all affiliates.
yeah, the preemptions definitely hurt it. I still think it is at this point CBS's #2 sitcom. It's already got Worst Week outbeat this season, and while How I Met Your Mother comes close, BBT easily outshines it in quality and creativity. CBS should be more than proud of this show.
I totally agree with you, BBT is the best comedy on CBS. Why is this show less promoted than the awful Worse Week is beyond me.
Well, at least about the Jay Leno thing being on at 10pm Monday through Friday, doesn't this mean that at least NBC still owns those timeslots? I mean, It would be hard for them to have enough programing ready to take over if the Jay Leno thing doesn't pan out (Unless they get like 10-15 different shows for midseason- some to replace failing shows and some to replace failing Leno hours and some to replace the shows designed to replace the other failing shows )

"We're going to be able to program Friday more aggressively, we're going to have more scripted on Sunday, we're going to about to open up more nights," Silverman said. "This is going to strengthen our entire primetime lineup."
Silverman emphasized that the move will not result in a cutback in development. In fact, Silverman said he will put more scripted programming on Friday and Sunday nights as a result of filling 10 p.m. with Leno.
—Mr. Leno's show will not simply replicate the format of "The Tonight Show." Key elements, such as a monologue and bits such as "Headlines" and "Jaywalking," will make the transition, but Mr. Leno might not have a desk. The idea is to make sure that Conan O'Brien's "Tonight Show" feels like "The Tonight Show." Mr. Leno will remain in his Burbank studios, however.
—Debbie Vickers, currently executive producer of "Tonight," will run Mr. Leno's prime-time show. A number of staffers will make the transistion as well, and bandleader Kevin Eubanks is expected to be invited to reprise his role in prime time. —Mr. Leno will produce original shows between 46 and 48 weeks a year. He's expected to begin the new show as early as August 2009.
—NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker had talked to Mr. Leno about doing an 8 p.m. show a few years ago, but Mr. Leno didn't like the idea, thinking his show wouldn't make sense as a prime-time anchor, people familiar with the conversations said. After doing extensive research on the idea of a 10 p.m. show, NBC pitched Mr. Leno on that idea. He again was reluctant, but as prime-time ratings for all the networks continued to erode, he reconsidered.
—NBC might not simply cut its production slate by five prime-time hours as a result of the deal with Mr. Leno. It's possible the network could decide to have a certain time-slot play host to more than one show—"Law & Order" could share a time period with "Medium," for example, assuming both shows return. Such a scenario would help NBC achieve its stated goal of offering viewers original programming all year long.

Sure. Well, that is at least as true as saying that The Big Bang Theory has not grown, 2&1/2Men has grown and pulled the earlier comedies up with it.
Reality is that all 4 are sporting larger numbers of viewers, with Worst Week having much less of a reduction in competition during the increase than the 2 8pm comedies.
Unfortunatley the ratings may be tired for PRISON BREAK but creativly if you check message boars like TWOP its one of the most popular seasons since Season One.
And no series on prime time does cliffhangers before commercials like PRISON BREAK...no one!
That's actually not even true. Prison Break used to get 20+ pages of discussion on TWOP in Season Two (and even more during Season One). Now it's getting... 7 pages at best. So, don't talk about it being popular these days... it's never been this unpopular (at least not on TWOP).
For the 11th episode of Prison Break's 4th season, TWOP had 5 pages of discussion. Compare that to Lost's 11th episode of it's 4th season, which got 44 pages of discussion. That tells a story!
Okay, I know this is stupid, but I HHHHHHHHHHATE this season of Prison Break (have hated the show since it got shitty midway to Season Two) and I can't stand people calling it good. I always have to go out of my way to prove that it SUCKS.
Online popularity has nothing to do with quality or good ratings. Supernatural has between 30 to 50 pages after every episode on TWOP. And while I really like it, it doesn't mean it's the best show on tv. It only means that many people like to discuss it. I really like this season of Prison Break, but online posting has nothing to do with it.
