OMG these ratings are absolutely horrible. EHC didn`t even get more viewers than its repeat last week. I think the reason for these poor ratings is the stiff competition on Sundays. The UPN comedies never aired against such stiff competition. EM: Home Edition, The Amazing Race, Sunday Night Football and The Simpsons @ 8/7c and America's Funniest Home Videos, 60 Minutes and Football Night in America @ 7/6c are apparently too much for The CW.
BTW UPN never aired on Sundays...so it is likely that the viewers got used to watch other networks on that night which makes them now not to come back to the former UPN comedies.
Its called no promotion and terrible scheduling. Why the CW put their best comedy at 7pm on Sunday is the real question. If they moved them all back an hour they may have had better results. Chris was advertised for but the rest were not.
Yes, the "Desperate Housewives" may very well be ruling Sundays still. "Brothers & Sisters" will likely retain just half of "DH"'s total audience. It's not that the actors are bad but on the contrary, they are good. The show is somewhat weak. "Girlfriends" will likely hold some strength and maybe "Chris" but the others? Unlikely.
I am thinking the shows got affected by Yom Kippur(apologize if I butchered the spelling). There is no reason for a Chris repeat to get the same as a new episode.
The only good thing about these ratings is that The Game retained alot of Girlfriends lol.
My guess is if the comedies remain that low, the CW will shift them to Monday and replace them with 7th Heaven and whatever else it has. Really bad night for the CW, but it wasn't necessarily a reflection of Yom Kippur.
here you go: CW's season premiere of former UPN comedy "Everybody Hates Chris" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall). Net settled for similar results the rest of the night, from "All of Us" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall), "Girlfriends" (1.2/3 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall) and the premiere of "The Game" (1.2/3 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall).
I didn't understand what CW was thinking by putting probably their best show on at Sunday 7. When it was on Thursday 8 it actually made an impact last year, it's not going to matter at all Sunday. CW needs to make some adjustments and soon.
Yes, Dawn...I agree. But I understood why it created a Sunday night sitcom block. Remember the minor success the WB had on the night with comedies like The Jamie Foxx Show, The Steve Harvey Show and Sister, Sister? Had it not renewed 7th Heaven (which is way down this year), the sitcoms would have remained on Monday. This is a bad break for the CW.
