Oscar telecast will likely change in the finals...
Hey! Where are the winners and losers? Marc always gives us the winners and losers!
Hahahah. Well, when I start getting paid to have official opinions, instead of just having my own, we'll talk winners / losers
I actually liked Ellen. She was congenial, played very well to the Hollywood crowd. John Stewart was better, but he was way over the A-listers' heads. And the telecast was full of so many "surprises" (I mean, seriously... the Academy practically voted AWAY from the guild awards) that despite the pomp and circumstance, it was at least infuriating to those who were in office pools

Never mind, I'll do it.
Winners: Scorsese, TiVo owners, people with good cable.
Losers: Ellen DeGeneres. NEXT!
Actually, I rather liked Ellen. She wasn't as entertaining as Billy Crystal (but without the smugness that tends to hang over his stints as host...) but I thought she did better than Chris Rock and John Stewart.
Best host of the last decade? For me, it was Steve Martin.
Did anyone else think the Oscars were really boring. The only thing I liked was the Jack Black/Will Ferrel musical number. I DVR'd the whole show and fastforwarded through the entire thing in about 20 minutes.
Someone needs to tell the Dreamgirls that there is a big difference between singing and over-singing.

It's a network trick -- if a show does not air in its regular timeslot it doesn't count in the Season-to-Date rating. (It's classified as a special.) ABC has done this a few times in the past with DH -- moved it to 10/9PM.
