Results for The Black Donnellys were EXACTLY the same as Studio 60's time period average. Above recent performances, but obviously not spectacular and will likely drop in weeks to come without the new Heroes lead-in. Especially given its half-hour results (will follow after I post this). As Heroes ran until 10:03pm, expect Black Donnellys to decrease even further in the final nationals.

As for 24... what a snooze last night! Maybe they ran out of plot points, but I swear I saw each part of that episode in prior seasons... and better done to boot! And where was Jack!?

THE BLACK DONNELLYS half hour breakdown:

10pm
- 9.983 million viewers
- 6.4/10 HH
- 4.1/10 A18-49

10:30pm
- 6.857 million viewers
- 4.6/8 HH
- 2.8/8 A18-49

In other words, we may yet have to suffer through more Studio 60 because in a few weeks it'll be a hit by comparison...

It looks like a lot of people tuning out when RULES comes on and then they are back in full force with a million more friends for CSI at 10PM. Echoing what I said last week I doubt a show like this would pull in big numbers if it had to lead off the 8 or 9PM hours.

If NBC had decided to put Friday Night Lights after Heroes, I'm pretty sure that FNL would be pulling more than 10 millions now.

Dumb NBC!

Well, they give program averages instead of just chunks of time... so when Heroes runs 3 minutes into the 10pm hour, that viewership gets counted for Heroes instead of just the 10pm-10:30pm half hour (at least that's how it works on the reports I receive... this is why you'll often see Men In Trees drop in the finals because Grey's Anatomy often runs one or two minutes into the 10pm hour and that throws the average off)

I thought TBD was pretty bad. Basically, it was clear that the episode wanted to lay out a ton of exposition. So, we have a character questioned by police about "the bodies." Apparently, though, the police don't tell him which bodies, and he doesn't bother to ask. Instead, he proceeds to tell them a sweeping history of Donnelly family history. Oh, and yeah, he throws in some infomation about bodies. Not, mind you, the bodies in question, but a completely different set of bodies.

That's pretty lazy writing.

OMG...TBD basically bombed last night. But with a lot of encores (NBC, USA, Bravo) and a very good 2nd episode coming up there might be a slight chance for the show after all...

If they'd saved FNL until after ESPN's Monday Night Football was over (i.e. held it off until midseason) that might've been a good idea!

I'm predicting that next season THE BIONIC WOMAN remake is going to follow Heroes, though, so don't expect the programming gods to answer your prayers Frowner

RULES number are jumping around. In week 2 it drew more viewers in the demo than Men.
It is NOT ready to take a lead in any hour. It should be left where it is and be developed.

Then, perhaps in 2008-09 it will be ready to take a leadership role.

I agree with you 100%. FNL should have had a mid-season premiere.

MAYBE. But it would not have gotten near the sampling Studio 60 got and it was only in the mid 11 million range. correct?
