I just watched the first episode and hated it from the get go and I like molly shannon a lot. It just becomes frustrating when shows with worse ratings like pushing daisies get the boot from another network when nbc renews Kath and Kim. I appreciate your vote of confidence and will give it another chance.

I happen to work on K & K and no, it's not the best show on tv but it's also not the worst. We did get a pickup, maybe because of Ben Silverman, maybe because they want to try to build a show. I've been on others that didn't get as much as chance. Give it some time and don't be such haters.
Its numbers were bad on wed and it had a great lead in with america's got talent. it's harder with these type of shows if you don't have a simliar show to properly launch it. If it's any consoloation kelly ripa was talking about it on regis a couple weeks ago about wondering where the show went to and finally found it on Fridays.

People are saying its already cancelled, but the fact is, NBC hasn't cancelled is, and it could actually have a chance of getting a full season.
Anyone know when the last time CBS won an "in season" Sweeps Month, in the demo? I still think the sweeps month's are a dinosaur, but it is unusual for CBS to win them since their shows are more steady than "buzzy."
ABC desperately needs another 2003 fall. All the shows that were started back then have been fading since that year.
There's no way Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy will get above a 4.0 demo within two years. And I doubt Lost will be above 4.0 this year. Which means ABC will probably be more screwed than it already is.

Until Nielsen does comprehensive year-round ratings in all the 210 designated market areas, Sweeps months are the only way that local market network and independent broadcast stations can measure prime-time, late-night and daytime in order to charge a fair rate to local advertisers for their commercials in all dayparts. That may never happen in the smaller markets less than 250,000 households (about 100 markets).
Over the past decade, CBS has won the demo in-season several times. It won in November 2004 (with a 4.5 average), and it tied ABC in November 2005 (with a 4.4). It won the February Sweep in 1998 with a 7.1 average. It hasn't won a May Sweep in A18-49 over the last decade, but it has won the July Sweep in A18-49 on a few occasions.
This week marks the 2 year anniversary since the launch of the PIFeedback Challenge. Thank you Douglas for taking the time to make it and thank you to those forum members who have taken the time to play it.
An updated list of the 12 PIFC Game 88 participants and a link to the game has been provided below. We need 23 more by Tuesday morning to reach the desired level of 35 and get market data from October 20 - November 19! Again, thank you to all of those who play on a regular basis!

The 11th game of the 2008-09 fall season of the P.I. Feedback Challenge is now online! (You can access the game directly by clicking the PIFC logo above.)
This game may look daunting at first glance, but there really is no complicated science to it. Just pick the 5 shows (one from each of the 5 broadcast networks while one from each associated level color) that you think will do best in the ratings in the next month. That's it! I urge any newcomers to pick any 5 shows just to enter - a few times in past games, those who picked randomly have actually done well.

The tougher timeslot won't help things but since Lost averaged upper 4's last year, I would say it has the chance to at least stabilize in the lower 4s. Criminal Minds is not a demo hit and Lost has handled Idol quite well before. Personally I would've liked an 8pm timeslot more but 9pm is the higher HUT level and it will at least start away from Idol.

The rerun numbers are high. probably beacause it was the last season. But actually 20 millions isn't all that much for such overhyped show. I wasn't very interested in ratings back then so i've always had the impression Friends were doing much better. After all CSI was being watched by 10 millions more viewers

As a fan of Lost, I actually hope Lost goes down in ratings. I no longer trust that ABC will let the show end after 6th season. I believed them last year when they were having quite a solid year but now, considering the way their shows have imploded I am worried that if Lost's ratings stay strong ABC may bully the show to stay on air for a few more years. I mean if by the end of 6th season Lost is getting 4s in the demo, abc will be very tempted to keep it going which would be disastrous for the show and unfair to the fans.

Friend's highest rated season averaged 29 million viewers. CSI's highest rated season was 26 million viewers. 52 million people according to wikipedia watched the finale and the post-Superbowl episode. I don't see CSI ever getting that sort of viewer level (to be fair, no show may ever again) but still. I'd say Friends is still slightly bigger.
