While I'm not a fan of how ABC normally treats Boston Legal (little promotion, odd scheduling), I do think they did the right thing Tuesday by pulling it. It would have been killed by the Carpoolers lead-in and by a new SVU. NBC had a killer night and ABC was DOA. Good move to save original Boston Legals until later.
As far as Lipstick Jungle goes, I wouldn't write it off just yet, after all, it's on NBC. The way things are going for them, it'll be a hit.

Correct. Brooke Shields is going to bring in that Suddenly Susan fan base. -

Now TONE - GG got a same premiere numbers as OTH because it had a 5 million plus lead in in ANTM and with tons of promotion. OTH did it by itself and they showed last year when not facing AI and not in summer they average a 3 million show easily which is solid for the CW now.
and in my opinion OTH is a much better show than GG cause it actually shows true emotions and its not always about being happy compared to the other teen dramas
Now that it's been 2 months into the Strike, has the total network viewing levels taken a big hit, or it is the same relative decrease that they've been showing this past season?

Watch the latest Gossip Girl episode and then tell me it's about people being happy.
I don't understand what you OTH fans are getting up in arms about. I'm not the one who started the OTH - Gossip Girl comparison. But if you really want to go there; Gossip Girl is only 13 episodes in, so I don't get how you can begin to compare it to a series that's been around for a little over 4 years. Gossip Girl also doesn't have Chad Michael Murray or Hilarie Burton in their cast. (aka two horrible actors)
I will admit, OTH did decent numbers for its premiere. But it doesn't change the fact that it had barely had any competition, and it will drop very low once Idol returns.
Why are CW fans getting snippy with one another? You can be a fan of one show (Gossip Girl or OTH) and not the other, but both show's audiences can be pleased at their respective programs results this week and not get down on the other.

I hope you're not referring to me. I am by no means a "CW" fan.

No, not referring to anyone in general really. Just trying to get all CW people to just be happy with what happens with their respective programs. They are not in competition with one another, ever, so it doesn't really make much sense to try and diss the performance of the other- especially when both did well in their own right.

I strongly agree. I was defending Gossip Girl on my own accord, and someone brought "Tree Hill" into the equation for some reason.
Originally posted by tonee: I'm confused on how GG is doing horrible. It had a 5+ million viewer lead in for almost the entire season and was doing about the same numbers. That lead in has vanished, and it's still posting similar ratings. I wouldn't say it's doing great, but not bad enough to warrant a spot on the "Losers" list; which is why it's not there.
I agree. This episode was WITHOUT THE LEAD IN. Guarantee if it had ANTM this week, it would have reached almost three million.
Please stop comparing OTH and GG, OTH is an established show that always has over 3 million viewers for the premier and then drops to the same ratings Gossip girl gets (with ANTM lead in for the rest of the season.
Does anyone know how many downloads Gossip girl gets on itunes??? It's always number 1 EVERY WEEK, beating Grey's Anatomy which has 10 times the ratings and it always on the top 10 most DVR showed (based on percentage of viewers that DVR it).
I just have to say, again, GG did NOT dissapoint. Another great episode (man can Leigton Meester and Ed Westwick act).

I would understand your point if ABC was planning a different Tuesday schedule in the coming weeks, but it does not. That 2-hour "comedy" block will be the lead-in for Boston Legal for the foreseeable future. ABC didn't save BL -- it just delayed the hurt a week. And starting next week, American Idol is added to the mix...
