Prime-Time Ratings:
Saturday 1/12/08

-Total Viewers:
CBS: 26.16 million, Fox: 7.09, ABC: 4.57, NBC: 3.84

-Adults 18-49:
CBS: 9.8 rating/27 share, Fox: 2.4/ 7, ABC and NBC: 1.3 rating/4 share

--------------------

Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Also, since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 9 percent in early 2006-07 to approximately 20 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.

----------

-Saturday’s Winners:
NFL Playoff: Patriots vs. Jaguars

-Saturday’s Losers (excluding repeats):
Nothing…with ABC and NBC airing all repeats, the night was minus any specific losers.

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
The next time someone tells you that the broadcast networks are “dead” on Saturday, remind them of the Patriots/Jaguars match-up on CBS on this evening. The NFL Playoff averaged a whopping 26.16 million viewers and a 9.8 rating/27 share among adults in prime-time, easily beating the three competing networks combined. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate. Over 26 million viewers on Saturday -- not too shabby!

Fox finished a very distant second for the evening with its veteran combination of Cops (Viewers: 7.69 million; A18-49: 2.6/ 8) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: 6.84 million; A18-49: 2.3/ 6), which still managed to perform respectably despite the severity of the competition.

Next was theatrical Pearl Harbor on ABC (Viewers: #3, 4.57 million; A18-49: #3t, 1.3/ 4 from 8-11 p.m.). And NBC capped off the evening with two repeat episodes of Celebrity Apprentice (Viewers: #4, 3.38 million; A18-49: 1.2/ 3 from 8-10 p.m.) and a repeat of Law & Order: SVU (Viewers: #3, 4.77 million; A18-49: #3, 1.5/ 4).

Fox should win the week with a razor-thin lead -- followed by CBS, NBC, ABC and the CW,

FOX 3.9
CBS 3.8
NBC 3.0
ABC 2.5
CW 0.8

Yes Fox will win because they should have some giant overrun tonight. NBC would still be in the gamer this week if they would have had a legit Golden Globes.

No, it won't. Unless you plan to avoid counting Smackdown and ANTM so that you can declare the race 'neck and neck'.

The REAL TRUE race will be between ION, Telefutura and Azteca for 9th place. Big Grin

Both are usually sporting a 0.1 in the Demo.

First, Marc, We need a thread for the new Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles.

2nd, T:SCC is pretty good. Most of the pilot was setting up the storyline, but I liked the way the transition from T2 to this series.

I am not yet sold on the "good" terminator though. But willing to give it some time to see where the chatacter goes and how it is handled.

So far, a good start.

TV-aholic, I totally agree. I really enjoyed the pilot too. It will be interesting to see how they do the rest of the show this season. I think the good terminator will hopefully grow and progress. I like Summer Glau and I think the character will develop as the series moves itself along. Nice start for the show.

Peace!!!

SCC seems Bionic Woman 2. It'll have a good opening but that's all. It'll fade quickly

I wonder if the race would really be close if Nielsen provided more significant digits?

Hopefully that can be accomplished quicker than the new thread for the Biggest Loser. Wink

I liked the 'good' terminator, though she is basically playing the same character she player in Firefly/Serenity. The best of the cast was 'Sarah' herself. I remain unsold on 'John' and I am already wincing at the 'Sarah's lover' plotline.

Last night's premiere was good and I will be watching again tonight. My biggest worry is the weakness of the 'plot'. It seems like they left behind enough pieces of terminator and super-technology at the bank that they themselves might be the source of the invention yet again. Then again, maybe it will be explained that the machine vaporized the entire area after they 'went forward'?

I'll also hold out hope that the FBI isn't so stupid as to still think Sarah is a delusional psycho killer making up the whole story. Way too much evidence left around for that plotline to still be supported.

I liked the SSC pilot a lot more than BW. But it is unlikely they can keep the action scenes as good as they were this episode (it would cost too much), so I'm not sure what the series will be about exactly. Still, it should equal current PB numbers at least, and improve a lot from Kville (then again what wouldn't). Especially with the strike.

Anyone else see the CBS Network promotion push this weekend. It highlighted all the current Top Series (#1 Drama, #1 Comedy) but also highlighted all the new shows that are coming out soon.

I thought it was very well done and very nicely produced.

Lets see if they get a bump similar to what NBC got with its Network push froma couple, three, weeks ago.

I wonder how upset FOX was that the game didn't run long?
