Should have gone with Nightwing instead.

And as much as I zero in and tend to lean towards male DC characters, why not run with Wonder Woman? Call it Diana or some such, plop her in a high school and have it an awkward god tries to fit in teen angsty action drama in which she helps right the wrongs of the school also. There is your DC, superhero, and target demo all in one show. No star spangled spankies though please.

I still think Gotham would blow Smallville out of the water though if DC would ever give up the reigns on the Bat franchise for TV. Gotham being a show very similar to Smallville, Bruce Wayne in high school, but in Gotham, doing the side detective thing.

Before Smallville was decided upon The WB was going to do a young Bruce Wayne series: http://www.kryptonsite.com/brucewayne I've read the series bible and pilot script and I LOVED IT. Of course, the network could've ended up changing things and screwing it up but I think it could have/would have been something amazing.

I kept hoping, when The Graysons was announced, that the project would evolve into either a Nightwing show or a "Dick Grayson after he was Robin/before he was Nightwing" show. Dick Grayson is one of DC's best characters in that it's a tale of a teen sidekick who in many ways became a better hero than his mentor. Even better- you don't necessarily need Bruce Wayne to be present for either era.

With a rich supporting cast, Robin/Tim Drake would make an interesting series too, though I would actually recommend ditching the "no tights" policy for something like that.

Unfortunately, Chris Nolan has control of the Bat-franchise, which I understand for movies but I don't understand with other media because it's not as though people get confused between the movies and various animated projects.

I was hearing some rumblings a few months ago that they were considering pursuing the Justice League "team" concept again in the event that Tom Welling didn't sign up for more. Tom signed for two seasons, by the way, which doesn't necessarily mean 2 seasons, but it could be likely.

There are a few other DC properties which could be cool to see on TV. I really need to make that a KryptonSite column sometime. Smiler

As for Wonder Woman... I think the biggest challenge is making her relevant and relatable for today's audiences. I think a problem with even Dollhouse is you cannot relate to the main character. Although, the recent Wonder Woman animated DVD feature did a great job of putting her together. Either way, I don't think Warner Bros. would let a small-screen WW fly again while they want to do their movie, sadly.

I agree.

Ugly Betty - not based on a film; not a previous American series; not previously on ABC; not previously a flop in America (no Ferrara puns intended)

Friday Night Lights - not a previous series; is based on a film; is a MAJOR flop

The Office - not based on a film; not a previous American series; not previously on NBC

Battlestar Galactica - this I'll sort of give you, except... not previously on SyFylis; not based on a film (ripped off a film maybe, but not based on one); unlike "Parenthood," the original show developed a massive cult following after it went off the air -- meaning, a remake made good financial sense

So... I'm sorry, I don't really know what your point was with this post. I don't agree.

"Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."

Ratings-wise, yes but FNL will have lasted 5 seasons on network television so I wouldn't state it was a major flop nor a flop at all. But then again, you are the same person who actually thinks "MacGruder and Loud" was not a flop either so I'll take your opinion with a grain of salt! Wink

Yep it was an excellent episode. One of the few times this season where we've seen the entire team work together on a case. That's been probably the biggest complaint and turnoff this season is how Ray (LF) has taken over the show. He's a CSI Level One but he's off doing solo cases?!?! Not likely.

I do believe that Catherine is in charge but because the producers have wrongly focused on Fisburne's character at the expense of everyone else, it has been hard to tell.

To the comment earlier about watching CSI online? I do as I watch all of my shows online.
