It looks like Thursday tied Monday in the 18-49 demo, though Thursday got its butt kicked by Monday in the 18-34 demo. Supernatural edged out 90210 in the 18-49 demo, but was beaten in the 18-34 demo. ...and, of course, America's Next Top Model beat all the shows in those demo and viewer measures.
Typically out of the shows that are renewed on the CW Supernatural almost always is the lowest 18-34 performer. Its very rare that Smallville is this low in that demo (1.3).
Though final placement of a 1.2 in 18-34 for 90210 could be tied with Supernatural this week (as its 1.1 in the first half hour and 1.2 in the 2nd) we shall see.
It should be a series low for Smallville in that demo as well. It isn't for Supernatural which has had a 1.1 and 1.0 already this season.
Seeing the NBC Thursday 8pm hour crash and burn gives me hope that Chuck still has a chance at renewal.
While (for the most part) everything on NBC has been down this week Chuck's demo has gone up 3 straight weeks. This week it beat Earl, P&R and was .1 off from Southland and Medium.
But one year earlier, CSI averaged 17.02 million viewers and a 4.7/12 among adults 18-49; and Grey’s Anatomy 16.37 million viewers and a 6.5/16 in the demo. Are we all just plain bored with these aging shows?
For weeks Marc was saying "William Who?" as CSI didn't seem to be affected by the switch. Well, think again. I think the show is going to continue to tumble with this new lead. He's dull. The show is now dull. The new lead that was cast should have been a way to re-energize the show and CSI failed to do so.
CBS's problem is not HI but CSI. HI's retention is much better than SS's or Fringe's. But CSI is dropping like a stone. And as a fan of the show i'm happy to see it, the last half a dozen of episodes were abysmal
Southland - A bit surprised ABC was able to strip 1.5mm from this particular show. As for its hold at 10:30, that's fortunate because I thought this ep was a step back from last week, which I thought was the best of the 3.
Private Practice - when finals are out probably can be classed a decent performance. I still have this retaining the time period because of the previous difficulties in getting anything to be stable and because I don't know where else they put this.

It was one of the more satisfying moments in Survivor History. Up there with the first Fake Immunity idol being played, a few seasons back.

Not to mention viewers are watching shows online and via DVR more than ever, especially with the nicer weather in many parts of the country.

I wasn't surprised nor impressed that the show initially held aud for the first several weeks after the switch, nor surprised that they are rejecting Fishburne's character.
They did go in the wrong direction. This new character is "Grissom-Lite" when the show needed some voltage at this late stage. And the loss of Dourdan is now felt more deeply as well, as with the low key Greg, Stokes, Brass, and the new man the show lacks an authoratative male character. Grissom was far from a fire eater but he was formidable and powerful.
These comments may have a macho ring to them but tell me I'm wrong.

I don't even think people will care enough about CSI to even watch it online.

Supernatural always dips after a hiatus. Its numbers will come up next week. They always do, and with the way the storyline is progressing how could they not? Sam's getting more chilling by the day. Sam's going off the reservation more and more.

Smallville hit a series low. Down from 3.56 and a 1.4 in adults Demo (a decline of 15% in total viewers).
Smallville's problem is Smallville. And Bones. Clark is just so bland anymore. He's the blandest character on the canvas. Send Dean or Sam instead to save the world any day. Clark's too busy being impossibly good.
