What follows are the fast affiliate rating results for Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008 in the order of overall network totals and by half hour per program (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW):
CW shouldn't program on Sunday until they get an acutal schedule that can bring in ratings. Those numbers are terrible.
The increase in Knight Rider could be because of interest to see how bad it is. They were watching something and flipped it on afterwards to catch it. If NBC turns it into a series, it will tank as hard as Bionic Woman.
American Gladiators had disappointing numbers for its finale, especially its 7 PM numbers. It ended with a whisper instead of a bang.
Brothers and Sisters had a huge drop out of EMHE. It needs to be moved out of Sunday 10 PM. Dexter should have debuted higher too. For all the controversy putting it on air, I would have thought it would have done better.
EMHE is pretty much the only noteworthy show in terms of ratings.

Clearly if Desperate Housewives moved time periods, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition would keep the night alive. Only 4ish million less than Desperate Housewives isn't bad at all.

I am not sure why NBC decided to run the finale of American Gladiators on a Sunday night at 7PM. They could have easily had gotten a much better rating if they had saved it for tonight. Especially considering the 1st hour was up against the end of the Daytona 500 and the 2nd hour was up against the NBA All Star game.
I guess they were looking to give Knight Rider a good lead in.
1. Amazing growth for AG (i mean from 5 million to 9 million is huge). Why NBC aired it on Sundays at 7pm is beyond me
2. IMO those are disappointing number for KR. If NBC goes forward with its plan will have another show bombing next season. BW's number were even better and look where it arrived
3. Good numbers for Dexter, but even such a hyped show skews old on CBS.
4. What happened to CC this year. From a hit show last year it became a modest show this season
5. B&S is artificially kept alive by DH. Without DH it would've been gone by now

Well it just proves what a horrible direction this show has taken -- I remember when this actually used to be a "family" show that everyone could sit down and watch with compelling characters and a good rhythm. Now, it's just a bunch of wh*res trying to out YouTube-moment each other. Gag me already.

Agree that the scheduling of AG was bad, the Daytona 500 annihilated Gladiators early on. The final AG hour numbers are more indicative.
Regardless of reasons, both strong ratings & growth for Knight Rider probably clinch the series order.
If Big Brother ratings can't do better over the next week, CBS needs to consider shortening this run and building up its regular lineup shows again.

Making a hit show requires 1. Get people to show up and 2. Get people to stay. As much as the remake strategy may stink creatively, it has created quite an advantage in step 1 almost every time for NBC this year. Maybe it hurts step 2, as purists of the original series will dislike the changes and leave, but I doubt that offsets the advantage in sampling.
Now, if NBC's going to keep doing this, they need to start making good ones. I watched the first hour and the last 15 mins of KR, and I thought it was less bad than Bionic Woman, but still several steps from "good television."
It shouldn't air outside of the summer...just does not feel right.
