This should end up being another season high for the show.

It was a well done and different episode featuring Frankie Muniz. It was more on his perspective and some of the camera work, angles and technique was different than the norm for CM.

Very well done!

Yeah but strike or no strike CM will take a long break soon. That might hurt it. But i guess the choice of airing so many episode week after week paied off.

i don't think it will hurt the show no more then other shows going on break. besides all shows takes break every year at this time nothing new about that and the viewers will still be here.

Everything I can see is that PD had one of it's bets ratings from the premiere + full season pickup...That just doesn't seem like axe for me...

You are taking things way too personally. Marc 'ignores' everyone, not just the people that disagree with him. If for some reason you need/want a response from him, try participating in the things he works at (such as the podcast) or the things that interest him (such as Mama's Family). You really aren't going to have much luck engaging him in conversation if your half of the participation is eye rolling emoticons and claims that he got his 'losers' list wrong.

Well, I have not said a word about the winners/losers list in several weeks.

And personally I don't care if he response to me. But reading through this forum every day I see people asking him questions, and he never answers them. Now I understand that he not have the time to answer all questions. But he answers NONE of them.

The same thing that it was 20 years ago except without the steroids. Wink

Basically it is a 'sports' competition pitting people 'off the street' against a cast of muscle-bound gym rats. They have 'battles' against each other involving obstacle courses and such stuff. Hulk Hogan will be one of the hosts.

Also, The Apprentice ('celebrity' addition) will be the 9pm Thursday NBC show for atleast awhile.

I agree. The shows most likely to be 'hurt' by a long break are the ones just building an audience. Criminal Minds doesn't need to worry about that since it is an established show. ABC's Wednesday lineup, however, needs to worry about a long downtime without new episodes.

People turned the channel when PD came on, and a bunch of those who didn't turn the channel at 9:00PM did so at 9:30PM.

That does, indeed, merit a "fading fast" label.

Well, let's put things in perspective. SW got "Honorable mention" on Monday. PD got "Fading fast".

quote:
ABC’s competing Samantha Who? moved up one half-hour with a still respectable 12.62 million viewers (#2) and a 4.1/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#2), but the retention out of the second-half of lead-in Dancing With the Stars (Viewers: 26.13 million; A18-49: 6.7/15 at 8:30 p.m.) was just 48 percent in viewers and 61 percent in the demo.

.....

Second was a 9 p.m. telecast of ABC’s fading Pushing Daisies (Viewers: 10.18 million; A18-49: 3.8/ 9) (...) Retention, meanwhile, out of the How the Grinch Stole Christmas encore (18.74 million viewers and a 6.8/17 in the demo at 8:30 p.m) was just 54 percent in total viewers and 56 percent in the demo.

So PD did drop at the 1/2-hour, but its lead-in and time slot was a one-time event. SW, on the other hand, had its usual lead-in. It was the second best performance of PD in the demo, and a series-low for SW.

(Edit: and the Finals for SW were actually: 11/26/07 11.69 M 3.7
It sure would be interesting if PD ended up beating SW in the demo Big Grin )

That's all there is between a "Fading fast" and "Honorable mention"?

A remake of a classic Syndicated show featuring lots of Steriod Abusers facing off against Average Joe's and Jane's fitness buffs.

Or per TV.com

American Gladiators was physical competition show where two male & two female contestants pitted their strength, speed and skill against the highly trained pro atheletes, the American Gladiators.

American Gladiators first premiered in January of 1989 along with RollerGames. It orginally started out in a Colosseum-like setting at Universal Studios consisting of a team of male and female "Gladiators" attempting to wreak bodily harm on teams of challengers chosen at regional tryouts.

The show ran until 1996.

Video Clips of the original can be found here.

Caps lock off. Seriously, it is hard to read.

DSM mostly got picked up because ABC didn't want to admit that they busted on a show they thought would be the next "Desparate Housewives". This week, DSM pulled Big Shots ratings. And yes, in every press release Big Shots is noted for it's female 18 to 34 domination. If Big Shots is this huge failure, well then it's easy to see what label DSM falls under. These press releases are designed to enhance what little good there is and hide all of the bad. If the ratings don't get back up to at least 9.5 million routinely, I don't think there will be a season 2. ABC can't keep dragging on with it that long.

A show that has to hide behind Halloween and Thanksgiving is just--sad.

By this logic, Criminal Minds and CSI:NY are the only two shows on Wednesday or Thursday that aren't sad.

I have to keep saying it because your only real argument at this point seems to be that I'm wrong because Marc is right. Frowner

I'm just trying to make you look petty and ill-informed. And so far it's going really well.

But over and over, he's shown that it's better to evaluate a show's ratings on the ratings themselves, not whether or not you think the show ought to stay on the air. I know people think I do that, but I don't.

Yeah, but if the majority of people think that's your motivation, then that's your motivation.

Then you've really wasted a lot of time here.

The revelations continue. Eeker

Spot you are right Marc is showing bias and that is cool, it is his place and he has a right to report the ratings in a biased manner..

Funny how the networks which is what matters see things more clearly.

ABC which you guys Love to bash will be raising as rates.

Dirty Sexy Money" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Taking second to CBS' veteran "C.S.I.: NY," ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money" topped its freshman drama competition during the 10 o'clock hour, NBC's "Life," by 13% in Total Viewers (7.1 million vs. 6.3 million) and by 18% in Adults 18-49 (2.6/7 vs. 2.2/6). The new ABC series ranked No. 1 in its time period among Women 18-34 (3.3/9).

"Dirty Sexy Money" was up week to week by 11% in Viewers and by 30% in Adults 18-49 (6.4 million and 2.0/6 on 11/21/07).

Dirty Sexy money WINS AGAIN in 18-34 and this includes facing established CSI NY!!!

Hmm looks like 8/9 weeks we have won that demo and ABC looks to be happy.

I have a full season pickup and am currently prepping a SEASON 2 BUDGET including getting Jill a trailer on site.. LOL

You guys and your inaccurate and ridiculous predictions LOL,

" oh Life is done" " Pushing daisy's is fading" "DSM should be cancelled"

Funny LIFE GETS PICKED UP, DSM GETS POICKED UP AND PD GETS HIGHEST RATING SINCE PREMEIRE , yet it is fading??? Oh and BTW DSM retained the highest % of a lead in to date. 7.15/8.2m

THATS STEADY , THATS DOMINATION in a DEMO and thats why we got a PICKUP.

Thanks! I don't remember the original, but then again back then (20 years ago) I was a 19 year old female college student. Personally I'm looking forward to Lipstick Jungle, Cashmere Mafia and Miss/Guided as well as Lost (of course)!

Shrek was on at 8pm. The Grinch was on at 8:30pm. Pushing Daisies followed at 9pm.

If anyone ever gets ratings data broken up in smaller than half hour intervals, I'd love to know if The Grinch retained the Shrek lead-in or if it lost 6million or so viewers from start to finish. This is one of those times where the trend within the half hour interval might be quite meaningful.

Thanks to you too, wiseguy! I'm not really surprised that I don't remember it given what it's about.

Thanks! I didn't watch either (watched the lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree) and I guess I thought Shrek was on for the full hour.

I'd like that also ... I am sure alot of kids watched both, but since Shrek was new I expect it had a much larger audience.

It's mostly in the timing of when Marc reads 'em. He's responsive when he sees it, but difficult to keep up with some of these folders.... well at least this one. Your best bet would be to go into his podcast folder for any questions.
