The numbers for Cops and AMW remain the same even when big competition like NFL sporting events come to Saturdays. They're very durable. Also, why replace cheap with cheap? They're not going anywhere, nor should they.

The reason why it's even in contention is the fact that networks don't program. If they ever did, you would see the numbers for Cops/AMW drop considerably. It might be competitive in it's time slot due to no competition, but it's far from a winner for FOX.

Fox will win most Saturdays in viewers and demo. CBS only got it this week because they had a high-interest, close game. They usually don't have football at all on Saturdays.

I was a little surprised that NBC aired an encore of The Office last night (did they even promote it?), and I think that demo score was an absolute series low.
Chuck has done OK on a few Saturday encore airings, and that's probably helping to bolster the Monday viewership as more new viewers are introduced to it.
NBC also seems to have confirmed the Saturday at 10 pm slot to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit encores. Does anyone know when they plan to bring the re-purposed-from-USA episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent to Saturdays? I remember that was the slot talked about for the re-purposed episodes around the time of upfront?
Also, does anyone know if the time period flip of NFL Network: Total Access and IFL Battleground brought increased viewership for MNT? They've been averaging a very paltry 0.2 to 0.3 in A18-49s to date, which is down considerably from the Saturday movie numbers or the telenovella weekly recaps.
I am also interested in MNTV's numbers. As for Criminal Intent, I'm thinking since no one's watching it on USA, the encores will still be pretty valuable for NBC.
I don't have much hope for MNTV to increase their numbers on Saturday. As much as I like Smackdown, I haven't gotten through one episode of IFL. It just seems like pointless violence. NFL Total Access is just a disaster. I read where IFL wasn't renewed for the 2008 season, which is smart. NFL Total Access will probably get cancelled also. Does anyone know why MNTV doesn't program on Sunday? It's one of the most watched TV nights and even if they get 1% of the viewers, that would be higher than their Saturday numbers.
5.88 million viewers is positive for law & order:SVU on a saturday. this helps because not all people are around on tuesday to watch SVU so they know it wil be on saturday @ 10 thats why it has such decent numbers for a repeat on a saturday and growth of 2+ million viewers out of CHUCK @ 9

I too have read that IFL Battleground is on the brink of cancellation by MNT. Apparently, the ratings are just below what they were expecting for the Monday originals and the Saturday encores.
According to several sources, the Saturday November 3rd one-hour "live" IFL bout is make-or-break time for the IFL series. The IFL people wanted a two hour bout, but MNT is contractually committed to carry the NFL Network Total Access series right through to February (the NFL has purchased the time from MyNetworkTV, and the NFL sells all the ad time save for local spots and MNT promos).
For its first season, IFL on Mondays (originals) average 0.6 in A18-49, and it got a 0.2 A18-49 on FOX Sports Network (Fridays at 11 pm).

Exactly, considering it sometimes gets LESS repeating on a week day-I would consider that a winner.

Maybe the nets should just always use repurposed material from its various cable commdities to give their popular series a go on Saturday. So you have something like...
NBC Battlestar Galactica/Flash Gordon Psych/Monk L&O: CI
ABC Greek Kyle XY Umm, two Disney sitcoms? Hannah/Corey
CBS Do they even have anything as far as cable owned channels outside of VH1?
FOX The Shield/Nip-Tuck Rescue Me/Dirt
Some of that stuff might have to be edited a touch, but that is nothing new.

Thanks Vlis .... ABC naturally will win the demo again with its strong Sunday Night lineup, but I think CBS will hold off NBC (unless the Packers/Bears games sets some kind of record).
The battle between ABC and CBS for the viewers win this week is going to be very close.
CBS will do well with NFL overrun and 60 minutes. ABC will win viewers with DH over CC, while Shark and Brothers and Sisters battle might be the telling battle. Of course, CBS will likely be time shifted so who knows?

I like your ideas for science fiction programming (NBC), which does reasonably well on Saturday nights.
CBS owns Showtime network, so they could always repurpose shows like Weeds, Dexter, Brother hood, Californication (may need to be re-monikered for CBS), Meadowlands, Masters of Horror, The Tudors...all series that might find a Saturday night audience.
