I thought moving Ugly Betty to the death night was also a terrible idea. I wonder if ABC is not expecting much from this show anymore given the low viewership levels on Friday. It wasn't doing that much better on Thursdays. 5 million would definitely kill the show in a heartbeat on any other night but is there a chance ABC would be happy with these numbers? I do think though that UB must cost a lot more money than putting a reality show like Wife Swap so they might end up doing that after this season.

CBS is up (a little but still) from last week, I wonder what happened last week? As for Aiden on the show... ugh. As someone else said, this has been the best episode this season. Admittedly there have only been four, but if they continue with this type of grittiness and get back to their roots, I think they have something. Much better (for me personally) than the romance season they had least year -- although that may not relay to the ratings.

Very low ratings for UB. I wouldn't be surprised if this is her final season. The Supernanny/Wife Swap combo would score better.

Wow, only 7.5 million viewers for a Yankees playoff game? Friday night is quickly turning into Saturday night part two.

Ugly Betty should move to Tuesdays at 8 instead of shark tank and after V is done.

Why is the CW killing Smallville? They should move that show to Tuesdays or wed. There is still much life in this show.

Why does everyone think Ugly Betty should be moved to Tuesdays or Wednesdays? ABC put it on Fridays to die a slow death for its last season. Unless ratings perk back up, it's gone at the end of the season.

Why it NEEDS to be the last season?I don't get it. On a better night it would probably get 7-8 million which would be enough for a renewal.

I think ABC moved UB to Friday night to have an excuse to cancel it this year, I think the show is clearly done after this year. Methinks maybe the showrunners know that and they'll wrap it up this year. Perhaps that's why ABC did this, to give the show a chance to be ended properly. Either way, UB surviving beyond this season seems quite unlikely unless those numbers improve.

I disagreee. It barely got 7 million most weeks last year and the season finale did like a 1.9 demo on a Thursday with little competition. I think its just time for Betty to be done. ABC was gracious in my opinion to give it the final season. This is nothing about the show creatively, but people are just growing tired of it and if she's lost the braces, isn't she really losing the "ugliness?"

Well, I guess it was time to get rid of the braces after three seasons. But,I agree mushu. ABC was very kind to give Ugly Betty one more season.

I sure hope the networks never give up on Friday.

Not going to argue that the braces should've stayed on but its clearly a sign the end is near. I know some people won't like this, but if Daniel's wife dies, I see Betty ending up with him. I believe that's how the original Ugly Betty telenovela ended.

I think Friday is headed to the wasteland. Saturday ratings this fall are higher than Friday that's due to football. By mid-January, Saturday's numbers will be worse than Friday's.

At this point, even if the "Fantasy Broadcasting Company" offered a Friday night lineup of:

8/7 House
9/8 Grey's Anatomy
10/9 The Mentalist

People would let the DVR handle the night so they could watch the shows later.

I think the networks treating Friday as a throwaway has given them throwaway results. Friday is still a very valuable night. The problem is there's not one strong 15 million viewer program on this night and no aggressive blocks.

The networks have simply forgotten their passion in running networks ever since the 90s and until they stop making it about the money and get the passion back to their networks then they will get those good numbers back.
