Also, no idea why Fox pre-empted its now strong Thursday lineup in a sweeps month to air the always horrificly low-rated NAACP Image awards. Seriously, sometimes I think that every network scheduling chief has had a lobotomy...
PROGRAMMING chiefs, maybe. Development chiefs.
Why do the people who handle scheduling and promotion have to take all the heat for crap shows performing crappily?
Because they could have scheduled it on low-rated Fridays where there wouldn't be as much harm, or on a different month when it wouldn't bring down their incredible Superbowl/AI-fueled momentum. But there's no reason why it can't be both programming AND scheduling chiefs -- plenty of blame to go around...
Invasion held up pretty well for the first half of it's run, but ratings began to dip when it had it's slow period. Towards the end things picked up, but it was too late.
Good show, but I think you're on the wrong track here. What's needed after Lost is something very simple and direct--and good. Lost gets people all charged up and confused, you need something more calming and reassuring after it--something that people can enjoy in an uncomplicated way, so they can devote their fried synapses to keeping track of all the plot threads on Lost.
Calming--but not dull. Eli Stone is DULL. But not in a calming way. In an incredibly annoying way. Just stop making shows like this. Please. Cut it out. We don't like them, and we won't watch them. Get over it. Move on.

Do they have any control over when the awards are scheduled? Isn't that up to the NAACP? And regardless of the ratings, do you really think they could say "Hey, lets move your awards show to Friday when no one is watching TV anyway"?
How about just a good show? Doesn't matter what kind. One. Good. Show.

Sure, they should have just told those NAACP people "get to the back of the bus where you belong--we've got a show about a rich white lawyer talking to God through Tom Jones that we need to put on. You do put on some airs, don't you--next thing you know you'll be wanting to elect some colored fella President."
(pisher patiently waits for somebody to call him racist for mentioning race).
