There is a new episode tonight, but it doesn't feature the woman and the 13 million dollar cases. What's up with that?

Take a guess how many episodes this lady with 13 cases plays for? 3-count 'em-3 episodes. She started on Wednesday, she plays on Monday, and finishes her game the next episode.
The only time a contestant has ever lasted 3 shows is for syndicated Millionaire, and that's a half hour with trivia questions which takes time.
It kinda took away from the value of the $1M win with the Mission. They are basically handing it over.

"oooh, and brand-new news that ABC has picked up The Middleman, another show that blends supernatural and detective/police elements. Middleman, from writer-producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Lost), stars Natalie Morales as a 20-something struggling artist recruited by a secret agency to fight comic-book-type villains. Matt Keeslar plays the title character, a superhero who serves as her guide."
Most likely they will all flop, like CM/LJ/BS. And even Heroes declined this year, so it is surprising to see this sudden interest in Heroes or X-Files wannabes.
These things come in waves, and what you need to understand is that the networks are responding to each other much more than to the audience--that's one of their problems, but it's a longstanding problem. Like how do you think The Addams Family and The Munsters premiered within a few days of each other? Or FOX's Millennium showed up at the same time as NBC's Profiler?
You have network execs hearing that some other network has ordered this pilot script based on some producer's pitch--and the producer based his pitch on what he heard some other network was interested in. It's not deliberate, it's not even conscious--it's systemic. It's how TV works. Or not.

Then again, maybe master con artist JJ Abrams can pull it off one more time.
But we both know he never pulls it off for very long. Case in point--Cloverfield's post opening week box office.
Con men will always find a way back to the money trough.
How do you think Bryan Fuller got PD greenlit after Wonderfalls?

I noticed that, compared to it's last outing against a repeat CSI: NY, it's down about a million. For NBC's sake, I hope it can stay above 10 at least while it has no competition.

The information was correct, the variety link was wrong -- I updated it. The other part is that is's for ABC's cable channel, ABC Family, and it may be ready as soon as this summer. If so, ABC should cross promote it during this Spring's LOST's episodes.

Even with this drop, Cloverfield has been a huge (financial) success. But it is true most viewers were disappointed, and don't look forward to a second movie. He should have finished the movie without showing or explaining the monster, then built a "mythology" on Internet before Cloverfield 2.

Supermanny should definately be a go. If Supernanny can do this well, Supermanny should at least get a try out.
As predicted, Big Brother is tanking. Putting it against American Idol was a dumb move and even if it was moved to another timeslot, it wouldn't perform any better. It is a summer show that has no business being on a strike schedule.
Wife Swap gets the Just for Laughs pass of being cheap strike filler. It will return to the summer soon where it belongs. Next week will be Cashmere Mafia's last episode. ABC will do a quick cancellation of the series. Not much use talking about it further as it won't come back. When Wife Swap facing Idol does better than Cashmere Mafia with reruns as competition, there isn't anything left to say.
Re-runs and clip shows don't work for the CW. Horrible numbers for the whole night. If ANTM is going up against Idol, I doubt it will be getting the numbers its usually used to. Instead of 5 million, it's going to be in the 3 to 3.5 million range. This doesn't bode well for Girlicious as even with the ANTM lead in, it will struggle to get above 2.5 million in the premiere and 2 million in subsequent episodes.
I don't think Moment of Truth is a winner. Yes, it's numbers looks good on the surface. But it only grabbed about half of the audience from Idol and Idol ran over a few minutes. Surely, those final numbers will decline. It's losing viewers each week and the Idol overlap is getting longer. The real test is when it moves from Idol next week. I doubt it will even pull in 10 million.

These were the numbers for the Top Model premiere last year when it competed with Idol and Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader. As you can see it has a very loyal audience. It may be down a little this year but I think that saying it will drop to 3.5 million viewers is a little extreme.

By the way these were the numbers for Idol last year when it aired against the premiere of Top Model and as you can see both shows can compete with each other and still provide great numbers. (Top Models numbers are great for CW standards by the way)
