Prime-Time Ratings:
Monday 2/11/08

The following results are based on the fast affiliate ratings (Live Plus Same Day data)

-Total Viewers:
NBC: 10.95 million, CBS: 8.90, Fox: 8.11, ABC: 6.65, CW: 1.52

-Adults 18-49:
NBC: 4.0 rating/10 share, Fox: 3.4/ 8, CBS: 2.9/ 7, ABC: 2.0/ 5, CW: 0.6/ 2

----------

Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Also, since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 9 percent in early 2006-07 to approximately 20 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.

----------

-Yesterday’s Winners:
American Gladiators (NBC), Deal or No Deal (NBC), Two and a Half Men R (CBS)

-Gone Without an Official Final Episode:
Girlfriends (CW)

-Yesterday’s Losers:
Notes From the Underbelly (ABC), October Road (ABC)

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
NBC led this uneventful second Monday of the February 2008 sweeps, with a first-place finish in both total viewers and adults 18-49. CBS and Fox tied for the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively, followed by fourth-place ABC and cellar-dweller the CW.

In the 90-minute battle of ABC’s deadly-dull Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann versus NBC’s American Gladiators, Dance War had more viewers but American Gladiators dominated among adults 18-49. Take a look:

Monday 8-9:30 p.m.
Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann
Viewers: 9.19 million, A18-49: 2.4/ 6

American Gladiators (NBC)
Viewers: 8.81 million, A18-49: 3.7/ 9

Personally, I am counting the days until the alphabet net’s addictive Dancing with the Stars returns.

The 90-minute edition of NBC’s Deal or No Deal picked up steam, with a dominant 13.09 million viewers and a 4.2/11 among adults 18-49 from 9:30-11 p.m. ABC fizzed, meanwhile, with its combination of the waiting-to-be axed Notes From the Underbelly (Viewers: #4, 4.30 million; A18-49: #4, 1.4/ 3) and October Road (Viewers: #3, 4.02 million; A18-49: #3, 1.6/ 4).

In week two news, CBS sitcom Welcome to the Captain remained out of the competitive loop, with 7.13 million viewers (#4) and a 2.6/ 7 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 8:30 p.m. One week earlier, Welcome to the Captain debuted with a similar 7.91 million viewers and a 2.6/ 7 in the demo. And versus the lead-in, a repeat of How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: 7.19 million; A18-49: 2.7/ 7), it was almost duplicate.

Also on CBS was a laugh-out-loud repeat of Two and a Half Men (did you hear that, Jon Cryer?) at 11.94 million viewers (#1) and a 3.9/ 9 among adults 18-49m (#2), followed by my personal favorite, The New Adventures of Old Christine (Viewers: #2, 9.90 million; A18-49: #3, 3.3/ 8) and a repeat of CSI: Miami (Viewers: #2, 8.62 million; A18-49: #2, 2.5/ 7).

Fox’s Prison Break finished third in total viewers (7.88 million) and second among adults 18-49 (3.3/ 9) at 8 p.m., followed by the renewal worthy Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles at 8.34 million viewers (#3) and a 3.5/ 8 among adults 18-49 (#3) from 9-10 p.m. While it may not be 24, Sarah Connor has successfully kept the time period warm.

A repeat of the CW’s Gossip Girl, which is expected to rush back into production, opened the evening with a lackluster 1.24 million viewers and a 0.4/ 1 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. Next were two episodes of veteran Girlfriends (including the series-finale) at an average (and very last-place) 1.80 million viewers and a 0.8/ 2 in the demo from 9-10 p.m. Considering Girlfriends aired for eight seasons, an official final episode would have been appropriate. Next week, look for the season premiere of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious on the CW Monday at 9 p.m.

Marc, any chance of a breakdown between the 2 episodes of Girlfriends that aired last night?

Good to see The new Adventures of Old Christine grow a bit against the diminished competition on ABC.

I know that HIMYM was a repeat, but I'm amazed that Welcome to the Captain was able to hold up to even those repeat numbers.

Does anyone really think that October Road has a chance for renewal? Those numbers are beyond bad.

The CBS comedies do well. Especially in repeat mode. HIMYM is only off by a million of it average for original eps.

You know what you are going to get with Prison Break, and it never disappoints really.

Only about a 500k loss in total viewers for SCC, which held steady in the demo.

But PB actually IMPROVED from the previous week. With the improved lead-in, and with the massive Superbowl promotion still boosting it, shouldn't SCC have at least improved slightly on last week's #'s?

SCC will definitely be renewed. It's getting better numbers than Prison Break.

Good for PRISON BREAK and TERMINATOR-they are two of FOX's most enjoyable NON REALITY shows.

FOX would be foolish not to bring TERMINATOR back next fall since it's holding steady and not plummeting into the abyss that other series like WELCOME TO K VILL and VANISHED did.

Also I hope we do eventually get to see PRISON BREAK: CHERY HILL either concurrently with PB or as its sucessor.

As for tonight...PLEASE everybody watch JERICHO and BIG BROTHER and help them do well!

I've never seen it but did the last episode of Girlfriends serve as a series final or the storylines left hanging?

WHA HOO!! Big Brother returns tonight!

It'll probably get renewed, but not for a whole season. It's not done dropping yet. And they spent a whole lot more money on it than PB--taking that into account, it's not really doing well enough. But well enough for them to try tweaking it.

They could start by firing the entire cast and starting over. Remind me again--which ones are the robots? Wink

The last 2 episodes were made before the strike, so no, nothing was resolved.

Really? The escape plan was completely random, and the various twists both predictable and stupid. Not to mention the ratings are still decreasing year to year.

The CW imo has an obligation to the fans of Girlfriends to air a one hour series finale event this May. Its the least they can do and its not like it will cost them much to put it on. A one hour clips show would also be nice.
