I guess you could say that's true, in the sense that we're watching less of it. On CW, anyway.

Samantha Who seems an outright loser for tanking so much of its lead-in. Much like The Big Bang Theory, the strike seems to have hurt the momentum for this new show.
The Bachelor was slightly lower in demo but at least mostly stopped the bleeding. It'll have to be moved away from Dancing for its next run though. ABC needs to build up other shows while The Bachelor won't likely gain additional viewers from this point on.

You cannot put a freshman sitcom in the lead off spot against such tough competition. I mean no one seems to mention how the show was doing fine until Bones and DOND joined the time slot. The competition is fierce and a show without such a loyal audience and no lead in is hurting. They need to switch BBT and HIMYM back again, and I bet the ratings reverse. CBS is really hurting BBT with the time slot. HIMYM is better able to hold up against this competition, because it has a more loyal audience after 3 years on the air. BBT needs a lead in at this point in its development.
CBS loves BBT. These numbers are concerning, but not end of the world. This summer I expect some special post-2.5 Men airings to prop up the viewership a bit. I think it will help. This show has potential like no comedy in the past 3 or 4 years to really become the next breakout hit. It just needs some nurturing and time. Almost everyone I tell about the show has come on board as a fan.

"The Genius of Gossip Girl"

You don't have to convince me. I love the show. I watch it every week. I am just worried they are ruining it at 8:00. I still think if they put it back at 8:30 with the HIMYM lead in the ratings would reverse. I am really starting to worry if the ratings keep going down that the show is going to be in trouble even though it has been renewed. I just don't think it is ready to handle the 8:00 slot against this type of competition.
FYI...this is what the CW just put out on Gossip Girl:
The return of Gossip Girl, paired with original episodes of One Tree Hill to create our new night of drama, gave us our best Monday EVER in adults 18-34 (2.0/6) and women 18-34 (3.0/8).
Very good demo story for the GOSSIP GIRL return -- GG scored its third best performance ever in adults 18-34 (1.9/6) and women 18-34 (2.9/8) behind only the pilot and the 11/14 episode. GOSSIP GIRL was second in the time period in women 18-34 and first in female teens (2.7/9).
At 9:00 ONE TREE HILL was in line with last week's performance (3.1/8 in women 18-34) and built on its GOSSIP lead-in. OTH was also second in the time period with young women and first with female teens (3.2/9).
From 8-10, The CW was second in women 18-34 (3.0/8) and first in female teens (3.0/9).

Not by a long shot, and trust me, I am not Caruso fan. It may be the CREATIVE weakest link, but CSI Miami, sadly, is one of the more stanble shows on TV, a power house, to the degree no show running against it ever managed to prevail (Studio 60 / Black Donnelys / Journeyman). Sadly, it will be with is for years to come.

After all that hype about new ways to watch TV, they pulled the next episodes of GG from Internet to increase live ratings, and fail. Are they going to repeat it is major hit until the CW dies?
By the way, it makes me wonder why BSG is now available online all day even before the actual SciFi airing.

Well they're really not going down. Its doing as well as HIMYM did at this time last year at 8pm so nothing to worry about. This despite more competition.

At least the demo remained steady from last week, and it did finish # 2 in the demo again. That is something good, but I hate to see the viewers going down like this.
That's all the CW cares about, too, that insufferable 18-34 and teen female demo. It'll drive the network to financial ruin, but whatever. I wish some of that budget that went for all those ads for Gossip Girl could be spared to get more classic rock back into Supernatural. grumbles. Yes, I like my grapes very sour, thank you. Of course, not having Bela next season would also free up that money. SPN's budget being cut for next year chaps my behind.
