THE HILLS 2.4/4 2.4/6 3,752,000 4.0/11

I think it's interesting to see just how thoroughly the Hills kicks the butt out of both GG and OTH as far as viewership and demo delivery is concerned... though OTH and GG do seem to be decent companions (albeit low rated ones). It'll be interesting to see if/how OTH is affected by House moving into the 9pm timeslot next week (cue "next week is the real test" response, take a shot of liquor).

I swear, I'm really getting pissed off by these arrogant people here.

If you plan on reading daily ratings, and making statements about each show, and how they're doing, then actually pay attention, and put other factors in to consideration before speaking.

Yesterday was enough as it was with the whole Desperate Housewives is a failure and in huge trouble thing, but today, with the CBS line up in trouble, have any of you spotters heard of a thing called a DVR? CSI: Miami had 17 million viewers from an episode 2 weeks. 17 million is right around last year levels, if not above them.

Big Bang Theory is NOT in trouble. There are simply not enough viewers available in the 8pm hour. By 8:30, I'd say at least 10 million more have arrived at home, ready to relax. Even if you put Grey's Anatomy, American Idol, CSI:, and Law & Order: SVU all in the 8pm hour against each other, I bet combined, there'd be maybe 50million something watching.

For those of you comparing pre-strike and post-strike numbers, just stop. Pre-strike was BEFORE daylight savings time. When daylight savings time occurs, the numbers simply drop. It is invalid to compare that.

Now, I've finished my rant, and said my opinion.

And because someone will probably ask, no, this is not aimed at Marc. I'm not one of those crazy Marc haters.

Now, a new Daily Game for the upcoming May 2008 Sweeps!

Just guess one or more of your selected program's final 18-49 demographic before each night at 7:00 PM Eastern time. Of course, for the next 2 nights, you can make your rosters for Thursday, April 24 (yes, I have accounted for the Scrubs/30 Rock switch!)

Play right now!

Whatever you think of the show, it was a massive hit, and Seinfeld too, of the kind all networks fail to reproduce now. Even 2 1/2 Men is nowhere near that level of success (taking into account lower viewers in general).

Single-camera or 'sophistication' are not the problems.

I wouldn't say Two and a Half Men is THAT far away from a massive hit. Considering this day in age, sitcoms are at a low, and Two and a Half Men can pull in 16 million [including DVR users], is a huge hit in my book.

And I'm not saying this because I support the show. I actually hate it these days.

I said it's a hit, but not a "massive hit"

Why on Earth was Friends a "cultural phenomenon"? I think we lived in 2 different countries. But then again some think GG is a "cultural phenomenon" beacause it's changing the way we're watching TV

I think Marc is terrific - but I am frustrated that MEDIUM continues to not get any credit from him. It built 19% on its lead in 18-49 (the only number that really matters) and was the 5th highest rated show of the night by that measure. It's almost a winner - but definitely deserves honorable mention. In addition, it is also up year-to-year ratings - how many shows can say that?

Considering Gossip Girls competition, DWtS, Bones, Big Bang & How I, it did reasonably well, its best since Nov. 28. Especially in the Demo, it reached it's highest yet. So if the CW keeps at it, promotion etc., GG could be that show, like Felicity was for The WB.
