At 9p KING OF THE HILL increased to a 4.1/10, and at 9:30 FAMILY GUY remained steady with a 3.7/9 among Adults 18-49. Both programs ranked No. 2 in their half hours among Adults 18-49 and No. 1 in Adults 18-34, Teens and all key male demos. At 10p the delayed premiere of UNHITCHED saw a 2.5/6 among Adults 18-49 and ranked a solid No. 2 in its half hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 1 in Teens and Men 18-34."

Increasing your numbers in the key demo is nto a sign of a show that should be cancelled. And maybe you should watch it once in awhile Marc. It's a very good show, and that should be part of the decision making process, not just numbers.

If it were normal for King of the Hill to increase the demo ratings from the Simpsons, you would be right, but I think this is the first time that's happened all year. It usually drops more than .5 in the demo and 1 million viewers.

I'm surprised they've decided so quickly. But that also shows tha bad state CW is in. Last season for example they've decided to renew OTH very late in the season although the numbers or better.
We already knew Chris is getting a new season. The question is : WHY?

I think Reaper might be picked up in the end. As for AIA, as much as i like it there's no reason for a new season (but then again there's not a big reason for Chris to return also)

CW doesn't have enough development cash on hand to get enough new shows on the air next fall, to replace all the underperforming shows on their schedule--which when you think about it, would mean replacing all the shows on their schedule.

The strike made it even more difficult.

Supernatural doesn't have enough eps for syndication yet. And it's hardly their worst-performing show.

OTH simply refuses to die. It's like the slutty 7th Heaven. Or something.

Still trying to figure out why you hated Diablo Cody's acceptance speech so much, regardless of whether her Juno script is any good (shrugs helplessly). I did get around to watching it on YouTube. Seriously--you saw her being rude to Harrison Ford? Did you play it frame by frame, like some kind of Tinseltown Zapruder film? Confused

It's not in that clip. It happened afterwards. Much like the handing out of a well-deserved Academy Award.

Well, that's redundant. If pisher said it, certainly, it should be thrown out.

Oh, you want to hear my thoughts? On any subject? Like, say... on Diablo Cody? Great! So, about that stripper-whore, Diablo Cody. Did you SEE that dress she wore to the Oscars? It's like, oh my God, what's your fashion damage, Wilma the Flintstone!

I agree.

Thanks for the info.
Gossip Girl and ANTM had already been renewed, but it is good to see Smallville, Supernatural and One Tree Hill on the renewal list. That should mean that none of their fans need to actively root against Reaper in some misguided attempt to ensure their own favorite show's future.
Everybody Hates Chris was a lock for renewal when it was announced earlier this week than it was selling further into syndication.

Thanks for posting SW. I am not surprised by the shows the CW decided to renew. I think most of them were a given. ANTM was already renewed for the 2009-10 season. Gossip Girl is Ostroff's pet project. OTH's ratings have improved over last season. EHC is another favorite of the network. Smallville is the networks longest running show and they need to use the hour afterwards to launch a new season next season. And then there is Supernatural, which I hate to say this, but I think the writer's strike helped the show get renewed for a fourth season. SN will get its five season run and syndication deal. That now...is signed, sealed, and delievered from this announcment.

Peace!!

I think Medialife counted Unhitched as falling outside of primetime whereas Marc counted it in the average. I think Marc is correct in that regard.

I agree on Oprah, Matt -- some people here are too cynical, but the broader audience obviously liked the show, and it fits like a glove with the EM:HE lead-in. And I do recommend watching Newlyweds -- much better than the ads would seem to indicate...

Does anyone know if today's "Royal Family" BW special is going to cover Prince Harry's military assignment in Afghanistan, which was big news a couple of days ago? I'm sure they taped it well before that, buy curious if they plan to edit something on that in...

ABC is probably the one that leaked news of his service to begin with, just so they could promote their show.

That was certainly an over-elaborate rendition of a snark I sprang on you last week (that you had no response to). You really do suck at this game, Riff. Smiler

Honestly, why don't you just admit you're jealous of her? It has nothing to do with her perceived 'whoredom'. You'd have gladly sold your body to get where she is--if there were only any takers. Big Grin

I don't see how a simple statement of fact qualifies as 'hatred'. You really think Spotnitz has another show coming?

Well, that's redundant.

So's your whole post. And what's weird, is that you're mainly repeating what I'VE already said. Badly. Unconvincingly. With a sort of forced gaiety. Prating badly copied witticisms through clenched teeth. Please tell me you're not a professional writer. Because, you know, I'm not. That would be just too embarassing for you. My heart isn't made of stone, you know. Frowner

Seriously.

You are insinuating that because I post on message boards during the workday, I don't know any people in real life.

While you post on a message board at all hours. A message board where I am basically the ONLY person talking to you.

Seriously.

Trying SO hard not to type a laughey emoticion here.

Oh no, I just wondered if you had any.

Thanks for answering my question.

And now the workday is done.

And let me just check--(sticks fork in Riff)--yep. G'night.
