AIA is an excellent sitcom.

and Thousands of viewers agree. Wink

Over 1 million is more than a thousand. And i don't need a big number of viewers to tell me what is good. I still think AI is one of the worst show on TV no matter how many millions watch it

I agree with your assessment. Big Give was a very tedious watch, but Newlywed woke me up a bit.

And Unhitched is the funniest FOX comedy to come along since The Loop.

with the help of last nite's strong premieres, it looks like abc will finish another week ahead of cbs/nbc in the demo.

Since I think Dexter's season one high was 1.2 million viewers, unless the online viewing is astronomical, not that many young viewers have seen it already.

Good point--then it's the show itself that skews old. At least when you take out the nudity, profanity, and extreme violence.

In other words, when you remove the only thing the show has going for it (well, aside from its star, who needs to find a better vehicle soon).

The Sopranos does very well in expurgated form.

People who are offended by nudity, profanity, and (more rarely) extreme violence still hate to feel left out of The Latest Thing. They will tune in just to say "I've seen The Sopranos" or "I've seen Dexter".

But in the case of the latter, they're going to find out there's not that much to see (with or without the nudity).

dumont, I'm very surprised to hear you say that. What about it was tedious for you to watch: helping the homeless soldier get a roof over his family's head, helping the wife that had her husband murdered keep her house, or helping the family with the kid with down's syndrome?

I agree it was crammed, but not tedious -- if you like EM:HE, you would like this show: it was like 7 EM:HE episodes packed into one. I agree it was too much too fast for 1 hour, but I would definitely not call it tedious...

when that widow was writing a message for her dead husband with her young kids to "float" up to heaven tied to balloons, I got teary eyed. Now, that may not be your cup of tea, but if you like that sort of feel-good show, I don't know what you wouldn't like about it.

I just get sick of sap. I just don't feel intrigued at all to watch.

That's fine -- if you don't like sap you don't like sap. But if you do, this was clearly a good "sappy" show, and that's all it was intended to be -- that's why it fit perfectly out of EM:HE.

I found Oprah's Big Give to be absolutely boring. It was a bad rehash of all the tender moments of EMHE. I have a feeling the ratings are going to drop fast for the show.

I did enjoy Here Comes the Newlyweds. It's a filler, fluff show but it has its entertaining moments. The cast is very well selected and had some funny one liners. I love the 4th married team. Although, they aren't going to last long.

Was Aliens in America an original or repeat? If its an original, its lower than Crowned numbers. Not good at all. When a repeat of a canclled show beats it, its time to just end it.

Unhitched opened to barely decent numbers. If it dips into the five millions, it will get a quick cancellation. The ratings could be partly blamed on horrible promos. What is the show about? Throwing kids in pools? No offense to the FOX promo person on board.

Although i like AIA i would cancel it also after this first season. But CW is mainly to blame for yesterday's numbers. I found out mainly by mistake that it's going to be an original so i guess many thought it's a repeat.

I'll cut this some slack because Nascrap pushed it into the 10:00pm hour on the East Coast, but that 18-49 score is still pretty terrible for a debut. I don't understand why FOX picked a night to premiere it where this was liable to happen.

I agree.

I still don't get why FOX keeps trying to mix live action comedy with its Animation block.

Malcom... did well, but it was established before a Block was formed.

Don't blame the NASCAR overun. Blame the Programming of FOX.

Sunday is their big comedy night, and they keep thinking they can use the toons to promote new sitcoms. And no, it mainly doesn't work. Because the sitcoms suck ass.

And it was good. I wasn't a fan, but for what it was, it was very well done.

Yep--not the scheduling, not the promotion, not the legendary plug-pulling nervous nellies, but the people who actually conceived and greenlit shows that were destined to fail on any night, on any network.

Retention out of a later edition of Family Guy (Viewers: #4, 7.11 million; A18-49: #2, 3.7/ 9 at 9:30 p.m.) was 85 percent in total viewers and 68 percent among adults 18-49 – not a bad start.

6m viewers for a premiere and not a 'Loser'? Only on FOX...
