Yea, like that will happen.

I think CBS learned it lesson with VM and will not do it again.

Oh, I'm not holding my breath or anything, but they need to do something other than Power of 10. Has any new show performed this badly on CBS in the last several years?
Big Brother is scheduled to take the slot in a few weeks.

Viva Laughlin (the Sunday airing) is about the last, really bad performing show I can think of, off hand.

I know The Will did so bad it was pulled after 1 airing, but X would know about that show more than I would.

I looked it up, The Will got only 4.2 million viewers. Maybe next week Power of 10 will drop to that level.

What ratings did VM have on CBS?

I have a sense that MNT did beat The CW last night. Whacked Out Videos is capable of pulling about 1.3 million viewers, and most of these viewers don't crossover to American Idol. The "Exposed Pro Wrestling Secrets Revealed" special is the wild card, but MyNetwork TV has been getting around 2 million with its magician-psychic secrets revealed specials.

MyNetworkTV is soon to announce a very aggressive line-up of MyNetworkSpecials for Wednesday at 9 pm right through the end of the February Sweep as strong counter-programming to Gossip Girl and Pussycat Dolls encores.

To date, the following MyNetworkSpecials have been skedded:

Wed.Jan.23 9 pm Secrets of Street Magicians Finally Revealed (encore of FOX special)

Wed.Jan.30 9 pm Impossible Escapes (brand new MNT special)

That's a huge drop for AI from last year. I know it's still the most watched show but still, if it drops 15% from last year we'll end up with episodes below 20 million.

And let's not forget the strike should help AI

Perhaps ABC needs to use its Fridays and Saturdays to burn off Cashmere Mafia, Big Shots and October Road. Two episodes a week, one each night Wink

Maybe they should move it to Sundays at 9 and run an ad campaign that specifically says it's the new Sex In The City same time - new channel.

Cashmere was dead after the first showing. ABC itself as a whole needs to stay in the losers category. Far too many soap shows.

They might as well put back in repeats of Private, Dirty Sexy Money and Pushing Daises.

Time to move this show away from this time period. It is not working going up against DOND and AI.

Absolutly...those are PIRATE MASTER level ratings!

I think Lipstick Jungle is an NBC show. But I think the answer is 'yes.'

And as for AI numbers, I won't be surprised if the live+3 and live+7 numbers show that a chunk of the Idol audience is watching DVR, and the 19% drop is actually much smaller. I record and watch Idol later -- it's a lot easier to skip through to find the really good ones and get through the really painful faster.

Yes, the Mini-series is still a viable format, but it must be of an interesting subject matter.

Perhaps a next mini-series project could be a sequal to the 80's Shogun minseries.

I'd like to see NBC adapt Kenneth Johnson's book V-THE NEXT GENERATION...as the original V did gangbuster ratings for NBC before leading to the stock footage infested V-THE SERIES that quietly perished opposite DALLAS.

It should be noted that Veronica Mars averaged its 3 million plus viewer audiences (without a lead-in) with summertime airings (July/August) in the Friday at 8 pm in the Ghost Whisperer timeslot.

But at least PM could be given a little slack because it was a summer show with a lot lower HUT levels, espcially for the 8pm time period.

Man, Wife Swap and Power of Ten took huge hits against Idol. I hope the PoT ratings aren't bad enough in this death slot to discourage CBS from keeping it around for the summer, but it's pretty clear (and it was pretty clear even in the summer) that the show is not strong enough demographically to be a regular season staple. Surprising to me that Idol dropped so much from premiere night, though.

Nice number for L&O, right back up to a tick below its premiere demo. Even though CI has a pretty cushy spot as a bridge between two other successful shows, I imagine NBC is pretty thrilled with the numbers for the NBC repurposing of that show.

And I do think that Lipstick is doomed. A lot of people on here seem to disagree, but I thought the Lipstick pilot was even worse than Cashmere's.
