-Ratings Breakdown: Fox led this typically lackluster Saturday courtesy of Cops (original and repeat: Viewers; avg. 5.08 million; A18-49: avg. 1.5 rating/6 share from 8-9 p.m.) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: 5.32 million; A18-49: 1.7/ 6) from 8-10 p.m. Second was CBS with its combination of a repeat of Kid Nation (Viewers; #3, 3.78 million; A18-49: #3, 1.2/ 5), a repeat of CSI (Viewers: #2, 4.79 million; A18-49: #3, 1.2/ 4), and 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: #1, 6.06 million; A18-49: #1, 1.6/ 5). Considering that CBS’ Survivor is losing steam, did the network really need the similar appeal Kid Nation? Isn’t difficult watching young homesick children in tears?
NBC had a typical mundane Saturday as a result of repeats of Most Outrageous Moments (Viewers: #4, 3.66 million; A18-49: #4, 0.8/ 3), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Viewers: #3, 4.25 million; A18-49: #4, 0.9/ 3), and Medium (Viewers: #2, 3.63 million; A18-49: #3, 1.0/ 3). College Football on ABC was fourth overall in total viewers (3.76 million) and third among adults 18-49 (1.2/ 4) from 8-11 p.m. As I say every week, what a night! And next Saturday won’t be any different despite it being premiere week.

I'm not surprised the two games in ABC primetime (USC/WSU and Iowa/Wisconsin) didn't draw anybody. They may have been better off shipping the ESPN game, Bama/Georgia, to the mother network, or rescheduling Penn St/Michigan into primetime. I think either of those would've helped at least a little bit.

ABC can't show any games where the SEC in the home team. CBS has that contract, and they're only allowed to show one SEC game in primetime (I've heard that they may show the LSU/Florida game in primetime on October 6th). ABC's contract only allows games where the PAC-10 and Big 10 are the home teams.
The Iowa-Wisconsin game was interesting, but regional coverage has never doen well. Plus, USC blew out Washington State. That probably had a big part of it.

I see, thanks. I'll be interested in seeing the UGA/Bama ratings when the cable ratings come out.
Uninspiring numbers all around. Granted, it is Saturday and no one watches TV. The only thing that sticks out is the fact that not a lot of people watched the repeat of Kid Nation. I have to agree with Marc, I don't know why it was made. So far it's been pretty lackluster on the ratings. CBS has to be disappointed with it's performance so far.
CBS is showing the Fla./LSU game in Primetime on Oct. 6th. They can select one primetime game per college football season (not counting the SEC Championship Game). You are right, ESPN would not have been able to switch the UGA/ALA game to primetime, because even though we've seen so much corporate synergy between ESPN/ABC (which I hate the fact they've done away with the former dominant ABC SPORTS-now "ESPN on ABC", how Crazy is that?) ESPN has the SEC, ABC has the Big 10/Pac 10 contracts. Your idea for moving Mich/Penn St. into primetime would have been great, and I believe would have drawn double the ratings of Wis/Ia. or Wash. St./USC-who cares!
Please, Michigan is not going to pull in big audiences this season. They proved that in week one. In fact, the Big Ten overall is pretty pathetic this year, and that's coming from an Iowa fan.

Exactly, and that's why I want Meeeeeeeechigan to win the conference. Let's see the whores at ABC/ESPN, including Brent Muffberger, spin the fact that one of the representatives of their precious Rose Bowl was beaten by Appalachain State.
Good news to those playing the forum's Survivor China game! This Thursday at noon ET, the game will randomly split us all into two tribes of at least 7 members each. Then on Saturday, September 29, we all start the "Survivor" game involving voting others off, alliances, and lots of talk of game strategy (click any white envelope icon at the site next to each player's nickname to contact that player privately).
If you still want in on the "Survivor" game, visit the P.I. Feedback Challenge for more details.
