Let's not forget that Jericho was one of the better shows on last year. The reason that the ratings failed for Jericho is because CBS tried the same thing ABC did with Lost and failed. The problem is that Jericho was only in its first season and they pulled it for a while and swapped times, etc and showed no reruns in the meantime. When ABC did that with Lost, it was in the second season and had been established. Most of the people I have talked to quit watching Jericho in season 1 after the winter break that was imposed by CBS.

I doubt they will cancel it before the 7 episodes are completed. The replacement would just be another crime drama repeat which is already littered all over their schedule.
Even though I don't actually like the show, I'd have to say that Jericho holding all of BB's demo rating and actually building onto its viewers is a good sign. CBS may actually want to try swapping their timeslots to see if they do any better. BB is what is failing the night, not Jericho.
Yeah, but Jericho could retain more of NCIS' lead-in, and BB9 could then compete for the reality audience when both AI and Biggest LOser are over. TV-aholic seems to agree, per below:

At least Jericho is somewhat compatible with NCIS and BB9 could then get the leftovers from the AI audience.

The Unit would easily beat out either BB and Jericho and CBS was stupid by not asking for additional new episodes, Despite all the hype, media, and promos it clearly shows people are either 1) not watching BB and Jericho and 2) the 12 + millions Unit fans are making their feelings known by not watching CBS .. But either way CBS is losing viwership/demos Tuesday night . No disrespect meant to NCIS which I do not watch but it is a rating winner for CBS but saying Jericho would be better after it makes me laugh.. Jericho was cancelled for low ratings and is still badly struggling .
American Idol is back on the rise. There are 5 really amazing guys this year in David Archuleta, Michael Johns, David Cooke, Robbie Carrico, and Jason Castro. Everyone else was a disaster. And for the 4 guys (not named Jason Castro) that we never saw before, I think after last night we found out why (no personalities, and they cant sing).
I really cant believe the numbers for Jericho. Last year, it was getting in the 8 million range, and now it can only get 5 million? Something is seriously off there..
And OTH continues to hold up, which is great to see..

Is American Idol really going that route again? I read that they have a bunch of actual singer/musician types this season instead of just a group of choir types looking for a free shot at millionaire success via the American Idol propaganda machine.

Jericho was popular for maybe a couple of episodes and dropped and that was before the hiatus begin !! CBS has heavily promoted its return. Their website is always Jericho heavy for coverage, So all these excuses are excuses and that's it .

I saw a couple of decent performers, a bunch of mediocre ones, and a couple of pretty bad ones. But even the best don't look like having Daughtry or Kelly Clarkson potential to me.

Well according to AI it is "the best group of contestants they ever had". Which would be more convincing if they didn't say that every year.

If The Unit were to air last night, it would have been a repeat. At best it would have drawn 6 million viewers and about a 1.5 in the demo.
Back on Jan. 22, 2008, a repeat of The Unit only drew 7.8 million and a 1.9 against a repeat of HOUSE.
But yet BB is a new episode so there is no comparison.. But even if you are going to focus on the repeats The Unit still did impressive and CBS was getting much more viewership payoff .. Considering BB demos are't much more for a new episode compared to a precious repeat of The Unit which still had more viewers it does not say much about BB LOL !! If The Unit was airing new episodes it would easily overtake BB and Jericho in viewership/demos ..

I have fond memories of David Archuleta from the Arsenio Hall version of Star Search which I enjoyed a lot more than American Idol. (He won I believe) If you want to see a clip of him at age 12 on Star Search go here.

I really cant believe the numbers for Jericho. Last year, it was getting in the 8 million range, and now it can only get 5 million? Something is seriously off there..
People who had given up on the show tuned in last week (it's A18-49 was 0.3 above its season finale). I've heard it was an "eh" episode (on this board and in reviews I've seen). So those people decided to not come back. Hence the drop of almost 2 million viewers and 0.6 in the demo.
Now, if Jericho can hold steady at under 6 million viewers and a 2.0 in the demo... it will undoubtedly air its remaining episodes, be canceled, and inspire many on this board to declare the CW stupid for not picking it up for season three.
If you're a fan of Jericho, be happy you got these seven episodes and be hopeful that the producers decide to go with the series finale ending instead of the season finale cliffhanger they shot, because those ratings say, loud and clear, that it's over.

But, if The Unit had new episodes to air, there wouldn't be a winter edition of BB.
BB is only here because of the strike. Its doing roughly the same numbers as a The Unit repeat, but with a potential to grow as the season progresses.
But, neither is worth "Writing Home" about. 6 million is a dog rating for CBS.. on any night.
