And it placed #1 in both categories...
I have to echo this sentiment completely.
Thank you Marc -- I take back my comment about you "not reading our posts anymore..."

Year-ago occupant The Unit had 11.56 million viewers and 3.0 in the demo. Granted, it was airing out of an NCIS original, which was over 15 million and 3.4 in the demo.

odd; you've only been here for one month and yet you know of my abc support. In the last month, my posts have not been abc biased. Is it possible you were here under another name before? quote: vlis, I never understood why you so often seem bent on rebuking anything I say. I say plenty of good things about ABC's shows, but you just seem to have a thing about my posts I find fascinating.

You mean before the 7 episodes have aired? The ratings are definitely bad enough for CBS to pull the plug on future eps.

My previous reply still applies: quote: I agree that The Unit would be performing better than either BB9 or Jericho. But not 12+ million viewers. And the performance of BB9 and Jericho has nothing to do with The Unit's fans "making their feelings known." It has a lot more to do with their respective fan bases or lack thereof.
Also, a year ago October Road had 13.5 million viewers and a 5.4 in the demo. Things change, and lead-in makes a difference.

I wouldn't bet on The Unit doing much better than BB9. It might get a few more total viewers, but its demo would be lower too. A break even, at best. But don't most early episodes of BB usually do so-so, then pick up steam as the season progresses? quote: Originally posted by Pam: The Unit would easily beat out either BB and Jericho and CBS was stupid by not asking for additional new episodes, Despite all the hype, media, and promos it clearly shows people are either 1) not watching BB and Jericho and 2) the 12 + millions Unit fans are making their feelings known by not watching CBS .. But either way CBS is losing viwership/demos Tuesday night . No disrespect meant to NCIS which I do not watch but it is a rating winner for CBS but saying Jericho would be better after it makes me laugh.. Jericho was cancelled for low ratings and is still badly struggling .

I've been here for a year, not a month, but your abc support is pretty obvious after a couple of days. A look in the ABC programming area will also show you my own ABC overall support. quote: Originally posted by vlis: In the last month, my posts have not been abc biased.
Again, I've been here a year but only more regularly in the last couple of months. But your posts are almost exclusively pro-ABC or anti anything else. quote: Originally posted by vlis: Is it possible you were here under another name before?
No -- I assure you this is my only alias, but as I mentioned I've been here longer than you think. But if that's the reason for your animosity towards me (if for some reason you believe I'm somebody else), I assure you it's just chimera. quote: Originally posted by Chimera: vlis, I never understood why you so often seem bent on rebuking anything I say. IF a repeat of CSI was to follow NCIS, you would retain most of the viewers, if not even grow a little. But CBS is playing it smart during the writers strike and not over exposing repeat epsodes in encore slots. There have been very, very few "encore" airings of their shows, outside of the usual Saturday CrimeTime. And even then, their letting 48 Hours take 2 of those Saturday hours.

I'm just replying to your comments -- and that's the first time anyone compared me to pisher. Take a look a few days ago: pisher and I don't exactly see eye to eye.

Aw shucks! I didn't invent that, you know. Perfected it, maybe. But the word-coining is much appreciated. Now let's work on getting it into the dictionary!

Usually it does- but this is a strange season. I'm thinking CBS is hoping it holds up until AI gets down to 12 and goes back down to one performance night a week...

Nobody gets big ratings opposite AMERICAN IDOL.
NCIS usually brings in about 14 million and a 4 demo (with fresh episodes) vs AI last year. I would say those are big numbers.

If The Unit were to air last night, it would have been a repeat. At best it would have drawn 6 million viewers and about a 1.5 in the demo. Back on Jan. 22, 2008, a repeat of The Unit only drew 7.8 million and a 1.9 against a repeat of HOUSE.
