Will regular Grey's viewers give CSI a chance during the 3 week gap in original content?
WAT will have its hands full going against LOST.
I think a lot will depend on whether either Grey's or CSI have any stunt episodes, like Grey's infamous "Code Black" episode, to get attention back to their show. In the demo, it will be a clear victory for ABC, but the viewers will be a toss-up, and perhaps going to CBS. And with Survivor outdoing Ugly Betty at 8pm, it should be the usual "split leadership" most of the time.
That's the expectation going in -- however, if CBS ends up winning the demo, or conversely if ABC wins in overall viewers, I'd say that network should rightly be proud/happy.
Expect CSI: to be in the 20-23 million range during those weeks.
I bet all shows lose around 1 million viewers from their averages so I'm guessing about 18 to 19 million for CSI, 17 million for Greys.
Why? Seriously, unless they had some kind of non-cancellation guarantee, why would ABC want more episodes of According to Jim? If the Girlfriends fans here about this one, they will be throwing a fit.
Chimps strike again!
Why do so many of you hate According to Jim?

I can see CSI being even stronger when it returns, plus it really wont have ANY competition for 3 weeks.

Consolation for WTKBBU is that Bionic Woman was canceled today, for like the twentieth time, so he can trumpet that scoop around here as he did the first nineteen.
Don't mind Anderson, but I will really miss Jesse Martin.

The strike is in no way going to help any shows. I don't think everything will necessarily lose viewers and the heavy hitters may be okay. Its the Brothers and Sister, the Sharks, the CSI:NYs, and the Ugly Bettys that I'm worried about losing viewers.

I think the show to watch will be CSI:Miami. It dipped a little too low here the last month. I think it may be the one CBS show hurt most by the strike.

CSI:NY as well. That show now has stronger competition in Law and Order. It should be a close battle between those 2 shows when they both are original. I also think Numbers will be weaker.

Numb3rs is in need of a new lead in more than anything. Its lead in dropped by 3 million on average this year and the demo dipped by about 0.5. Never good news. Lets hope they give it a special Friday 9pm CSI for a lead in that first week before Moonlight returns and not just a Moonlight repeat. I agree NY and Miami are in trouble but its not like Miami has much in terms of competition (or NY for that matter).

I see limited problems for shows like CSI and GA.
It's the WAT's and UB's that have revealed softness that might be damaged.

I have never been a big fan of CBS shows, so maybe this comment might be a bit bias, but I really think CBS is at the start of trouble for them. I think people are growing tired of all their crime dramas, and all of the repeats during the strike has just added to that. I could see CSI (original) and WAT doing well on Thursdays, but I really see a big downturn for all the rest of their shows.

CSI:NY should be fine. It will go back to its 13-14 million viewers.

I've been saying that all along. Eventually people will grow quite tired, just like ABC has realized that oversaturated lineups of female relationships are not going to cut it. I don't see anything on the likes of Big Shots or Cashmere Mafia getting picked up next year unless they go forward with Cupid or whatever the hell that Rob Thomas disaster was called.
