Keep in mind that 'Girlfriends' has to go head-to-head with 2@1/2Men (and in the future will still go head-to-head with DwtS while 'The Game' gets away from that behemoth).

Travis, did 'Aliens in America' show strength in any particular demo or did it just not get sampled much by anyone?

I agree with you Marc 100%. I dont know why abc is wasting a primo time slot after DWTS on the very tired Bachelor series. abc needs to take advantage of the monster lead-in while they have it,but instead they choose to squander it. I dont get it. Its a shame that Aliens in america is not on a stronger network, it would have had a better chance of becoming a hit. As for Prison Break, the novelty had definitley worn off. This would have made an awsome mini-series from the get-go instead of an ongoing fiasco.

Just kinda bombed flat out. Pretty even across genders, but, well, just not wanted by many males or females.

This is so sad that 'The Game' was the highest-rated comedy and it went up against DWTS. ..and still not even at 3 million viewers. And there was a plethora of advertising for AIA all summer. There really is no spinning it anymore...The CW is in serious trouble. Even if these comedies went up against DWTS and Idol simultaneously, a television network should not be performing under 3 million.

I think Big Bang Theory got at least as much buzz/hype as Chuck.

The show ratings will go up after DWTS.

I don't understand why you think that BBT will perform any differently than other CBS sitcoms in the same spot. As of now, CBS has shown that they get about the same results no matter what they put in that hour before 2@1/2Men. For that matter, RoE only performs slightly better than other sitcoms put on after 2@1/2Men. So far, CBS has remained incapable of replicating 2@1/2Men's success.[/QUOTE]

CSI Miami used to be a pretty good show. Now it is nothing more than a guilty pleasure to me. Last night's story was so ludicrous it was laughable. But, like I said, a guilty pleasure.

That is too bad. It looked like 'Aliens in America', like Reaper, might bring more young men to the TV rather than just 18-34 women.

Actually, last year's numbers for HIMYM and the Class were much better when Dancing wasn't around. I still suspect the Big Bang Theory, which is already growing by more out of the overrated HIMYM lead in that anything else has so far. I'd say its a winner given the situation.

Yes, but you left out one huge factor. There was no DWTS when The Class debuted. Just wait until DWTS goes on its break, the numbers for BBT will blow away The Class.

If you wish to claim that DwtS ratings are relevant or that BBT will explode when DwtS goes away, you will have to explain why we have not seen a similar effect with other CBS sitcoms in this timeslot. After all, shows like HIMYM and The Class haven't exploded in the absense of Dancing.

I think next week, 'Dancing' will beat 'Heroes' not only in viewers, also in the demo.

It was just as good as the pilot. Next week will be the 1989 Earthquake show. Should be awesome.

It is FOX, so: all Idol all the time. Wink

Now I'm anxious to see how much erosion for Reaper there will be tonight.

That's the problem with the CW Monday. Chris and Aliens are not compatible with Girlfriends and the Game. Perhaps splitting up the blocks and using Girlfriends and the Game with Top Model on Wednesday would be a better idea. Then Chris and Aliens in America could be used to pair with say Reaper or a reality show on Mondays. Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill on Tuesday. Life is Wild after Smallville on Thursday and Reaper and Supernatural on Sundays.

I think it may actually grow. It got decent exposure out of Smallville last week.
