Glad to see PB doing so bad. It shows you can not take the people for stupids. I mean the 1st season was great, the second was OK but the first 3 episodes of the 3rd season are a mess. A complete mess.
Interesting take on the show because others on message boards believe that its actually reminiscent of the much favored SEASON ONE now that they are back in a prison setting
CBS should shuffle in CHRISTINE behind MEN. Creativly its a much better show than RULES and cetainly more funny. Megan Pryce was so good in GROUNDED. What's she doing in this garbage?
Christine skewed older than RULES for some reason, and RULES had better retention out of 2-1/2 MEN. It usually gets around 80-90% in viewers and demos (at least it did last spring) and Christine was more around 75-80%.

Chuck does worse in demos than Journeyman. Ouch! K-Ville has the hours counted. Big Bang depends on how much time CBS offers it. It does rather well but i give it 50-50 chances for a full season
Chuck had no lead-in. Journeyman was coming out of a 5.5 18-49 rating for HEROES. It's not really that comparable. Big Bang is doing better than The Class in terms of retention and buzz (though I don't get it) and they'll give it a full season if it keeps at these levels.

FOX might want to think about cancelling its whole Monday lineup. All the extra push/advertising/encores for K-Ville aren't helping the show at all.
And do what in their place? They're going to repeat last fall's mistake all over again. Greenlight a buttload of pilots and then pull them all by midseason. FOX is having some real problems. The fact that they're doing "okay" with Back 2 You, and Til Death (which isn't doing that hot) is a plus, but in terms of Hourlongs, they just have HOUSE and BONES. I think K-Ville might get pulled in favor of HOUSE reruns, but Prison Break won't be dropped anytime soon, unless it starts pulling under 6 million.
I think the only positive you can take out of Prison Break's ratings is that they arent going down anymore then they already are. The premiere brought in 7.5 million and the second and third both had 7.2.
I think that if it continues to at least hold at this level FOX will keep it for the duration of the season. FOX seems to really love Prison Break so I honestly don't see them cancelling anytime soon.
Well have to see what FOX does with Prison Break when LOST comes back in February on Mondays at 8/7c.
Does anyone have a rating number for the two new MNT shows last night?
8:00pm Celebrity Expose 9:00pm Control Room Presents (feature band - Maroon 5)
I didn't watch Celebrity Expose (too much competition at 8 pm), but I did watch Control Room Presents and it was a marvellous viewing experience. Without a doubt, this is MyNetworkTV's best series currently on offer (not including the awaiting-a-new-timeslot telenovellas American Heiress and Saints & Sinners).
I thought last night's Chuck was immensely entertaining, and Journeyman became much more compelling than the first episode. I still haven't watched HIMYM off the dvr, but I am concerned from those of you who seem disappointed with this seasons episodes so far...I think Miss Hannigan's becoming new hairstyle is the most daring aesthetical makeover since Felicity season two re-imaging of Miss Keri Russell.
I know nbc's ratings have been slipping lately, but in their defense so have all the other networks. Look at FOX they have practically no veiwers except on tuesday night. And the CW (even though I love the game), they are going to take a while to build up their network, mabye they should get some more 1 hour dramas, like desparate housewives or Grey's Anatomy, and put them in a non-competative timeslot, mabye in the 10pm hour. In a couple years it looks like Smallville and ANTM will be the only shows left on CW.

I doubt Lost will end op on Mondays. As for PB not that FOX loves it, PB brought FOX good numbers so far. How many 10 million shows FOX has?
CBS has cancelled shows that were first in their time slots. It's all about the numbers not about the places. And 8-9 million viewers won't make CBS happy. Ask that to The Class fans.
It's always relative to the year's numbers. The Class's numbers were bad, but now HIMYM is dipping, and we haven't even reached Spring yet, when almost everything will take a similar dip as last year (mark my words, it'll happen). That the show held onto a large chunk of the premiere audience is a good sign. In other words, if CBS starts averaging 9 million for Big Bang, they very well might hold onto it, because the CLASS wasn't showing any real growth, and started to dip as the year went on. Old Christine got a midseason renewal when it was averaging around 8 million, so don't be so sure.
Heroes - I thought it took a big tumble, but it's actually at the same level as last season's second episode. Much is probably due to Dancing being a full two hours this week instead of ending at 9:30pm and allowing a jump for Heroes at 9:30pm. My DVR stopped at 10pm so I missed the final minute. ARGH!
Chuck - Love the pilot, wasn't a fan of this episode. Reeking of Jake 2.0, but with less Keegan Connor Tracey. I'll give it another week to stand out. Drop off was more than I expected from last week, as there wasn't really any extra competition.
Big Bang Theory - Modest drop off. Still need to track in weeks to come. I didn't think this episode nearly as endearing as the pilot. They need to get out of that apartment and get rid of Leonard and Sheldon's two friends.
Journeyman - Not as big a dip as I'd expected, but another week of 10%+ 10:30pm drop off. Didn't watch it, how was it for those that did?
K-Ville - Tick bloody tock.
HIMYM - Still not as funny as it used to be, but better than last week. I'll agree with pisher on this... bring back Alyson Hannigan's red hair!
CW Monday - Bad showing from Aliens in America. Surprising strength from The Game. Seriously, it grew out of Girlfriends. Significantly (for the CW anyway). Also very strong 18-34 showing (a 1.8 out of Girlfriends' 1.4).

Again, last week it was helped by tune-over from Dancing, since it ended at 9:30. Dnacing went to 10:00 this week and it got hurt. Lucky for CBS Dancing stays at 9:30 for the rest of the season (Barring a pull of Samantha Who? ala Knights of Prosperity), but it's not any more compatible with 2.5Men than Old Christine was.
Even though the ratings weren't as good for this episode of Heroes, I thought it was much better than the season premiere. Hopefully the ratings will get back up to normal levels next week!

CW doesn't program in the 10PM hour, and it would cost them more money to do that. Heck, even FOX hasn't done it yet and apparently doesn't plan on it.
CW's problem is that they can't/won't make shows people really want to watch. Smallville might not even be around next fall, and instead of trying to come up with a well done action show they're apparently just trying to do a quick cheap spin-off with Supergirl. I'm sure it'll happen.

If you wish to claim that DwtS ratings are relevant or that BBT will explode when DwtS goes away, you will have to explain why we have not seen a similar effect with other CBS sitcoms in this timeslot. After all, shows like HIMYM and The Class haven't exploded in the absense of Dancing.

"The Crass" never did those kind of builds on "HIMYM." At this point in the season last year, it was actually losing audience from it. It was also never very competitive with NBC and took a huge tumble in Week 2.
If "The Crass" didn't want to get cancelled, maybe they should have, I don't know, kept the funniest person on it, instead of writing her out halfway through the season and acting as if she was never there.
As for CBS cancelling shows that regularly won their time slots, it's happened ("Dr. Quinn," "The District," "Close to Home"), but only to shows that either had some undesirable demographic concentration or came from people with which Moonvest had a personal axe to grind. "Big Bang" fits neither of those bills.

Look, I know you don't like the show, and you are definitely entitled to your opinion, just like you know I like the show. However, this show is doing fine. It had a small dropoff after week one, and it is # 2 in its time slot after DWTS. Personally, with established shows like PB opposite it, and Chuck getting all this buzz I am amazed it has done this well. The show ratings will go up after DWTS. This show is off to a great start. I admit, that it has to keep it up, but it is a great start. # 2 in its time slot behind DWTS is a great showing.
