Its numbers are positive because its growing out of its lead in. In today's TV world complete with DVRs and online viewing, the fact that more people like it than its lead in is a positive.

That was the justification for my reasoning.

HIMYM will be gone after this year. It isn't performing well, it's the weakest of the block, and it's losing viewers. I'm now trying to decide whether CBS should give it a full 22, or cut it short at 13. As for Big Bang Theory, it's survival will depend on the quality of the CBS comedies in development. If they have a lot of good ones on the slate, BBT is done for. It has about a 30% survival chance.
You're out of your mind on BBT. This is the dumbest comment I have seen in any of these forums. CBS finally has a show that builds from 8:00 to 8:30, and you think they are going to cancel it ? You have completely lost it. Also, don't forget this is a Chuck Lorre show. You know the guy who has given CBS the only, true sitcom hit in Two and Half Men. Keep dreaming if you think they are going to cancel it. I will admit, it must keep up the ratings, but from the feedback in the blogs and forums most of the viewers love BBT. All it needs to do is keep building on HIMYM and it will be fine.
Well since 24 is going to be on Monday, K-Ville never really had a hold on that spot mid-season. Even before it's ratings, I had a feeling it was going to shift out mid-season to Friday.
However, I'm not so sure Sarah Connor will do any better. From what I've heard on other boards, there's mixed reaction to the show. I think they will finish up Prison Break on Monday, wrap the series up and pair it with 24.

Going by those demo numbers, Drive is the more successful show. Will FOX keep K-Ville on the air next week (scary writer's strike ahead) or axe it before then?
Oh please, I suspect a BBT hater here. Of course its numbers are positive. You can't compare the 9:00 mega hit Two and Half Men and Rules which feeds off it to the 8:30 slot. Look how Rules of Engagment suffered going up against DWTS this week, so when DWTS goes BBT will do even better. If BBT keeps growing out of HIMYM it is a success. As long as keeps it up it will definitely be renewed.

Interpreting numbers and analyzing them is now a form of hate? Oh lord, I think you aren't going to enjoy this board much. Perhaps a CBS fan board will best suit your time.

Sure, but you are only talking about 2 weeks of data and BBT lost a big chunk of that 'better than its leadin' audience from week#1. Factor in the different HUT levels that naturally occur between 8pm and 8:30pm and BBT is in the exact same boat as HIMYM.
The only positive spin you can put on K-Ville is that it had marginally better lead-in retention than the year-ago Vanished episode; we're talking a measly three percentage points in the demo, and a better fifteenish percentage points in viewers. But the year-ago Vanished episode was the one that caused FOX to put it on hiatus for a month and bring it back Fridays, where it was DOA. And Vanished had already gotten seven episodes to reach those retention depths; K-Ville got there in three.
I don't think this is the week Fox cans K-Ville, but it needs to stop dropping like right now. Sub-2 in the demo just isn't going to work.

Well, in the interest of full disclosure let me tell you that I am more ofa sports TV fan. I only watch the CBS Monday sitcoms and Back To You, because I love traditional sitcoms.
Let me also tell you that I have visited various forums for feedback and read a lot of the bloggers and the feedback from last night's Big Bang Theory episode is running about 90-10 favorable. Most people think the show is hilarious, so get used it. If it keeps its ratings as is, it will be here for a long time to come.

ABC Cavemen 9.5 million viewers Carpoolers 10 million viewers DwTS results 18.5 million viewers BL 7.5 million viewers
CBS NCIS- 13 million viewers The Unit- 9.5 million viewers Cane- 9 million viewers
CW BATG- 2.5 million Reaper 3.25 million
FOX Bones- 9.5 million House- 18.25 million
NBC SB- 8 million viewers BL- 5.75 million viewers SVU- 13 million
I have a feeling that ABC will have a winner with DWTS, Caveman/Carpoolers will do decently in the ratings. Unfortunately, I think BL is going to decline a lot (which is too bad because the show is great).
Bones with decreased competition will get a few more viewers to FOX. House will give some real competition to DWTS.
CBS will do well with NCIS. It will lose out to House and DWTS on the Unit. Cane will drop significantly.
NBC will get decent numbers with Singing Bee, disappointing numbers for Biggest Loser, but will get increased viewership with SVU because people move from Cane/BL to it.
CW will pretty much be out of luck. Reaper will be it's only bright spot and it will be in the male demos.

It is a shame that 'Aliens in America' didn't get better sampling. It is a much better show than the sampling indicates. For that matter, 'Girlfriends' (the longest running non-cartoon sitcom on any US network) is far, far better than its competition and far better than its ratings suggest.
The numbers for the sitcoms, overall, are about what I expected. It is interesting that 'The Game' had a viewer uptick. It corresponds to the Adage.com report on ad rates that showed 'The Game' would command the highest ratings of the night. The people that really know what they are talking about in this business must have seen something in that show.
What do you mean "the longest running sitcom on any US network?" It's starting its 8th season.
Friends (10) was longer than that, so was: Everybody Loves Raymond (9), Will & Grace (8), M*A*S*H (11) plus the "spinoff", Fraiser (11), Cheers (11), and countless other shows.
Sunday Big Brother 8pm, CBS / Animation Domination 8pm, FOX Monday: Gossip Girl 8pm, The CW / One Tree Hill 9pm, The CW / Heroes 9pm, NBC Tuesday: 90210 8pm, The CW / Big Brother 9pm Wednesday: The New Adventures of Old Christine 8pm, CBS Thursday: Smallville 8pm, The CW / Big Brother 8pm, CBS Friday: Ghost Whisperer 8pm, CBS
