Dancing With the Stars looks like it has dropped big time year to year. I thought Dancing used to get over 18 million viewers every outing at least peaking over 20 million viewers. Is this show declining on us. Castle is doing the best any show can do out of DWtS and since Dancing isn’t as strong as it was when Castle premiered this has to be considered a healthy number. My worry for Castle is it might be lead-in dependent but I wonder if they put it on Fridays at 9pm like they did with Women’s Murder Club would it do decently there in a less high-profiled spot.

CBS might have to make some changes as I think a swap is coming. Accidentally on Purpose should be hooked up with Christine and put a dent in ABC Comedy Wednesday hour at 8pm. Since How I Met Your Mother is young skewing and is a great anchor it can probably raise Gary's rating. Gary Unmarried should move to Mondays. Miami is still strong but down which is why it needs to move to Sunday to help that lineup out. Once Hawaii Five-0 debuts it should land on Mondays.

CBS should move Cold Case to Fridays and have a better complimentary program with Medium. Give NUMB3RS a boost out of Miami on Sunday Nights.

NBC is struggling badly but Mercy is a great surprise for them. Trauma doesn't fit with Heroes and that's the problem there. Trauma should air with Mercy and NBC can move SVU to either Monday or Friday. The 10pm slot is becoming the problem everybody predicted it to be. The cancellation of SouthLAnd woke a lot of people up about the situation. I think NBC should end the Jay thing at the end of this season and go back to programming that hour.

Who knows with the change in ownership for the NBC Universal networks with Comcast purchasing the deal from GE things can change big time for NBC for the better including getting rid of the cancer known as Jeff Zucker and moving Bonnie Hammer to higher position.

Thanks for that touching little appeal to homophobia, Ammit. Does you proud. Big Grin

So you think Bones would still be around if it barely averaged above 2.0 in the demo?

I think it can and will go lower than its S1 lows, if taken off life support. But it doesn't need to go lower to go down.

Tyra Banks: TV's top-earning woman; Katherine Heigl #2

quote:

Raking in enough funds to top a Forbes list is not an easy feat. Both Oprah and Tyler Perry have made the magazine's infamous lists. Today, Tyra Banks follows suit as she becomes the top earning woman in prime-television.

Earning some $30 million over a twelve month period, Forbes says Banks' supermodel turned super-personality adjustment has paid off.

Like other leading women on the list, including Katherine Heigl, Banks' ability to multi-task, working on several projects both in front of and behind the screen has contributed to wealth.

According to the magazine, Banks' wealth comes from the popular America's Next Top Model series as well as her daytime talk show; frequent cameos; and notably behind the scenes work that includes acting as a producer on ABC's True Beauty as well as the former CW series 'Stylista'.

In order:

1. Tyra Banks: $30 million
2. Katherine Heigl: $18 million
3. Marg Helgenberger: $9.5 million
4. Eva Longoria: $9 million
5. Mariska Hargitay: $8.5 million
6. Julia Louis-Dreyfus (tie): $8 million
7. Maura Tierney : $8 million
8. Tina Fey: $7 million
9. Marcia Cross: $6.2 million
10. Jennifer Love Hewitt & Ellen Pompeo (tie): $6 million

That is not good for AOP. It has consistently gotten funnier as the weeks have gone by. Too many judge by a first episode and that was a bit too shrill. Now it has hit its stride. CBS might do some Monday shuffling putting AOP at 8 followed by HIMYM? Anyway - hope it gets a season to catch on.

LOL!

This is great for CSI: as they need a boost in this franchise and the great thing about CSI: has always been how the characters connected to the other one.

'Cleveland' youngest fall show; 'Good Wife' oldest

quote:
Not only does Fox have the highest-rated new scripted series this fall in "The Cleveland Show," it also has the show with the youngest audience. With an average age of 28 (which, in broadcast TV, is practically prepubescent) "Cleveland" even beat the CW's "Vampire Diaries." At the other end of the spectrum was CBS' "The Good Wife" and "Three Rivers" with a median age of 57. Here's the list of the median ages of new fall shows based on the first few weeks:

Good Wife - 57
Three Rivers - 57
NCIS: Los Angeles - 56
The Forgotten - 55
Mercy - 55
Hank - 55

Jay Leno Show - 53
The Middle - 51
Trauma - 50
FlashForward - 50
Eastwick - 49
Modern Family - 47
Accidentally on Purpose - 47
Brothers - 46
Cougar Town - 46
Community - 39
Glee - 37
Vampire Diaries - 32
Melrose Place - 30
Cleveland Show - 28

"Cleveland" tied "Family Guy" as the youngest broadcast show overall on TV. And even though "The Simpsons" has been on the air for 21 seasons, it's still averages a youthful 30. The oldest show was the other scripted show that's hit 20 seasons, "Law & Order," with a median age of 60. And because no blog post this week seems complete without something about "Dollhouse," if you're curious it's 43.

Maybe NBC should move Jay to 8pm 5 nights a week. With the exception of Biggest Loser nothing else is doing much better than he is at 10. It would open up that 10pm slot for more adult dramas.

For everyone saying Eastwick should air after DH - I watched the first 15 mins of episode 1 and 1) it wasn't very good; 2) the premise seems too similar - 3 women living in a small town - who wants to watch 2 hours of the exact same thing (with the exception of CBS procedural viewers)?

Not my intention. I was going for the "thou doth protest too much" vibe that goes with the those types of shows. I don't see anything negative about you having a massive crush on Nathan Fillion.

Will do.

Of course Bones would have failed with that demo, on FOX, five years ago. Hell, Prison break was still getting mid 4s in those days. MNIE was getting nearly 6. These aren't those days.

I think it can and will go lower than its S1 lows, if taken off life support. But it doesn't need to go lower to go down.
Wink

By life support, do you mean its ever declining lead-in?

ps. What! I don't get any of the magic kool-aid too? Sheesh! Do you have to join a cult or something?

Eastwick would've been better served on The CW with Vampire Diaries and bring some of that Charmed audience back.

I like the move of Jay to 8pm as I think it works better. Jay should also only air 2-3 times a week. It can't continue to at 10pm next season.
