Let's see how GA does after it's 8th season? Though, it probably will not have any competition, since i heard that this could be CSI's last season.

I think WP and/or MH leaving would impact the ratings, since they are stars of the show. Jorja, not so much.

Yeesh, why do people get so bent out of shape over things like this? Listen, neither Grey's or CSI are any imminent danger, so does it really matter who is "winning"? (Grey's btw. Demo means everything Wink) They are both fine. As is The Office which all right-thinking people are watching.

2-0 in what? HH numbers? Not in the demos. You can say each is 2-0 depending on your spin.

Tell that to your parents. I suppose you don't care if older people are watching.
For your information in girls 12-17 Gossip Girl is the number 1 show.
By your thinking GG is 3-0 over every other show.

I myself am often annoyed by the demo-mania at the networks, but no question it exists. Greys is the more successful show, as that industry measures success. CSI will be the winner in syndication, but that's a whole different ballgame, and they aren't in competition there.

Yeah, but CSI isn't going to come anywhere near to being one of the longest-running shows of all time. Not even in contention.

Neither show is one of the biggest hits of all time--the only thing anyone is really interested in is who's Top Dog in scripted TV right now--and the answer is Greys. Like it or not.

Roll Eyes yeah, CBS is going to cancel their highest rated show.

I'm shocked but it just goes to show how much UB has slipped.

I remember last year or the year before that CSI Miami was the most popular show around the world with Lost at #2. Anybody what show was the most popular worldwide last tv season?

Well lets see how sweeps goes for both shows. Though, I do remember CSI being named as the number 1 scripted show on tv- when you combine rating, reruns, HH, demos, etc.

Whose lead male character is played by a 54 year old man, and whose lead female character is played by a 49 year old woman.

And not dissing them for their age, but face it. CSI's audience is aging as rapidly as its stars.

It's a very expensive show to produce--CBS will eventually reach the point where it decides the show's ratings don't support its budget. Not this year, though.

Well, that may be true, but what does that have to do with whether CSI is in its last season?

But those "old" stars are still bringing in the viewers. Let's agree to disagree that right now CSI and GA are the top 2 shows on tv right now before American Idol comes back.

Sure, but they're also bringing in massive paychecks. I'm just saying that regardless of whether ratings rise or fall for a show, salaries always rise. ER has only lasted as long as it has because people were able to tolerate the cast changes, which kept costs under control.

I think with CSI, which only has five characters people care about, any cast change is going to have an effect.

CSI will be around a while longer, sure. But if it goes on much longer, people will be comparing it less to other modern procedurals, and more to "Murder She Wrote". Wink

Ugly Betty has slipped a lot and this should be its last season. Still, without the half hour breakdown for Ugly Betty, is it a sure thing that 30 Rock beat it?

I would raise all of the numbers, except for NBC.

Looks like I needed them even lower. You must have been WAY OFF.
