If I am right, the final four nights of the Sweep will be as follows:
ABC, Week Four of Sweep, 'Plan B' ================================= Sun.May.18 ---------- 7 pm - Extreme Home Makeover (2 hour season finale) 9 pm - Desperate Housewives (2 hour season finale)
Mon.May.19 8 pm - Dancing with the Stars 9 pm - The Bachelor (2 hour season finale)
Tue.May.20 8 pm - Dancing with the Stars (2 hour finale) -> moved one hour earlier 10 pm - Grey's Anatomy, Part 1 (first part of 2 hour finale) -> replaces Dancing with the Stars encore at 8 pm
Wed.May.21 8 pm - Lost (2 hour finale) -> replaces 2 hour Lost encore 10 pm - Grey's Anatomy, Part 2 (second part of 2 hour finale) -> replaces Boston Legal season finale which gets bumped to following week
If ABC finishes Week 3 of the May Sweep within a few decimals of FOX in A18-49, this final four day schock and awe could be the Alphabet's decisive edge in giving ABC its first May Sweep victory of the 21st Century (the closest ABC came before was its second place 5.4 to NBC's 5.5 in the heady Millionaire days of May 2000).
If Mr. McPherson can pull off a May Sweep victory against FOX, watch for him to be carried into the affiliate get-together atop the shoulders of ABC affiliates when they meet later this summer.
The Bachelor: London Calling finale is May 12, and on May 19, The Bachelorette premieres.

Sitcoms have always been the bane of big syndication bucks, and the sitcom drought of this decade is finally coming home to roost. The only notable recent series in syndication are Two & A Half Men and The Family Guy, which are both drawing more than a 4 rating. Studios are desperate for these syndication bucks (where they make up losses from early seasons of a given series), so it's little wonder that Scrubs and ATJ are getting more seasons solely for the purpose of syndication, even if they take a hit in the original broadcast licensing fee.
From what i've gathered, post-production on the 2-hr LOST season finale won't be finished till May 22nd at the earliest and that according to sitcomsonline is a direct quote from Mr. McPherson.
Mere disinformation to lull Mr. Reilly into a state of complacency.
Hopefully you're right, but my gut tells me that ABC has decided to go out 'like a lamb' this sweeps and leave it's power hitters on the bench.

"Shark": Another network might be inclined to give this drama another chance, but CBS sets a high ratings bar for pickups and "Shark" has a tough time clearing it. Industry oddsmakers are pessimistic about a fall return.
Moonlight": Since returning post-strike, "Moonlight" remains the weakest link in CBS' Friday night lineup. Yet the vampire drama continues to win its time period. A pickup is all but certain.
This is the one of the most illogical things i've ever red. So CBS sets a high bar, so high that a 10 million show is canceled and a 7 million renwed (in demos both do pretty much the same)
There is no way in the Nielsen high heavens that Shark would ever pull in 10 million viewers on low-HUT Friday nights and win its time period in A18-49 almost every week as Moonlight has accomplished.
Shark has had two years to prove itself in cushy time periods following CBS hits on high-HUT nights of the week, and the Nielsen jury has never embraced this show. If CBS renews it, it is only because the development cupboard is empty of alternatives.
I agree with dumont on this one. While its total audience would probably crush Moonlight's, the 18-49 would do no better. Shark should've been left after CSI for another nurturing year. While Moonlight doesn't deserve renewal either (especially with several Friday-worthy pilots in production), it does have better demos for the slot its in.
Well i think Moonlight deserves to be renewed. Because it is amazingly consistant and word to mouth over the net is spreading like wild fire. And there is not a show like Moonlight on the air. TV can use variety and Moonlight gives that. And for the record i also think Shark should be renewed. It has been on the air for 2 years now and also is consistant. So they should definetely keep that as well. Also their new shows cold end up like viva laughlin(don't remember if that was the name) it was gone after 2 airings i think.
I thought Dexter was amazing last night. I hope CBS shows season two, because if not I probably wont order Showtime for season three because I wont know whats going on. (Cold Case was good last night too)
Poor Aliens. I like that show. If it goes (which it probably will) I will be quite sad.

I understand why ABC wants to renew ATJ and Scrubs, but why has ABC been running ATJ during sweeps period? Clearly they don't care about it, so why not burn it off and run a all new marathon on a Friday night fro 8-11? There's 6 episodes, and it's only one night. Anything would do better than what According to Jim has been doing in that Tuesday 8pm slot.

Thanks as always for keeping us informed on the running sweeps number dumont. With that said, I just don't see how the numbers work out for an ABC sweeps win. AI is down, but it still is dominate in the demo. DWTS' demo numbers aren't going to make up ground on AI (which often doubles the demo numbers for DWTS). Lost, Greys’ and DH are better competition, no doubt. But even those shows don't figure to approach the 10. demo that AI will almost certainly get for its finale. As expected, when their "heavy hitters" are in first run ABC is pretty strong, but it would truly take "fuzzy math" to think they will beat FOX in sweeps.
Also, while the numbers are close between ABC and FOX, one should remember that there have been two Thursdays and two Sundays (both strong ABC nights)in sweeps so far, while ther has only been one Tuesday and Wednesday combination for FOX. In other words, let's see how close they are after Wednesday.

This time i tottally disagree with you and dumont. Shark would get 9-10 millions on fridays without a doubt. There is not a single reason why Shark would do worse than C2H

FOX shouldn't even be included in that competition until it programs 3 hours of primetime a night.
