I thought the first episode was just OK, creepy but stupid. The second episode was just awful and should have been buried in the dog days of August (or preferably, a garbage can). Last night's episode was very good. Nice performances, some good tension and a good twisty ending. I have no idea why they didn't air this episode first.

That makes no sense at all. Why woud the CW air Reaper repeats twice a week and none of either Smallville or Supernatural, when they both repeat better? Because you like the show?

MyNetworkTV surpassed The CW last night in viewers with its "Texas Rangers" broadcast premiere. This is the second time this week that MyNetworkTV has beaten The CW in viewership (and the two networks have been tied twice in the A18-49 demo, on Monday and Tuesday).
After four nights, it's neck and neck for fifth place in viewers amongst the English-language broadcast networks:
5th. The CW 1.470 million viewers 6th. MyNetworkTV 1.403 million viewers

No, its not a joke. My reference is that Survivor 1 could be used instead of the comedies at 8pm on thursdays. There may be some genuine interest in seeing the first season, 8 years after it aired. A lot of fans, like me, didn't get on board the show until later in its run. And besides a couple of airings on VS. cable channel a few years back, it has not been seen since its original run. I would bet that Survivor 1 would do just as well, if not better than what the comedies are doing at 8pm on Thursdays. It may even do better than the GAD that will premiere in a couple of weeks. quote: Originally posted by RoyBoyCF: quote: Originally posted by TV-aholic: Perhaps reairing the 1st season of Survivor might spark a little interest over the summer.
Is this a joke? CBS won't air a show with no repeat value instead of shows for which repeats barely dip.

I think that is great idea! I hear people saying the first season was the best all the time, but I didn't watch it back then. I would be really interested in watching.

quote: Last, and very least, were repeats of the CW’s Smallville (Viewers: 2.20 million; A18-49: 0.8/ 3), which is expected to conclude next season, and Supernatural (Viewers: 1.92 million; A18-49: 0.6/ 2), which will not benefit once Smallville ends.
Marc, I love you but I have to disagree. You might recall that back in February, with its last pre-strike episode, Supernatural got a live rating of 3.23 M, its second-highest rating of the season (and more importantly, an Honorable Mention from you!), with an episode that followed not a new Smallville episode but a repeat Supernatural episode. Of note: Because of the stiff competition it has, Supernatural is often on the Top 10 list of broadcast shows that benefit most percentage-wise from +7 DVR timeshifted ratngs. The last 5 SPN episodes before the strike break had Live+7 ratings of 3.37M, 3.33M, 3.10M, 3.41M and 3.59M. Unfortunately, like most everything else, it lost steam during the strike, with the last 4 episodes getting Live+7 ratings of 2.73M, 3.15M, 3.00M, and 3.43M. At least the awesome season finale did well. I hope SPN will be able to build on this next season (and hopefully one more season after that!), with or without Smallville. Thanks, Marc. I hope you have a nice weekend!

quote: I really hope SPN has it's five years and ends with dignity.
How is that even possible? SPN has already lost everything: fans, ratings, good stories and good actors. All that's left is a crappy show that just won't die, with two actors that can't wait to be free and do something else and a bunch of retarded bimbos with no talent.

Well, yes. It's not a show that's meant to rerun on network television. There's cable, DVD, iTunes, etc.

I can't even begin to tell you how out of the loop you are. So i'll just say the understatement: I don't agree at all with what you're saying. And besides, there's a reason for why Sam never liked clowns.

You're right. In fact, Supernatural is such a loser that Warner Brothers television just signed its exec producer, Eric Kripke, to an exclusive two year production deal. Warner Brothers Television signs Eric Kripke to two year development dealWhile not a guarantee, I'd say that bodes well for Supernatural getting its fifth season--if the CW itself doesn't collapse. With such an outstanding season finale this season, I'm encouraged for next season. Warner must really want Kripke to stick around.

Or they can't con some other poor sucker to take a CW series on the downhill slide.

FLASHPOINT - if these promos are clicking, I don't think being on friday will be a deal killer. I'm more in the camp that when fridays suffer it is because of what is on more than that the nite itself is in some freefall.
Swingtown goes into that special category the Pussy Cat Dolls was for me. Only instead of muting the TV and just watching, I'm now doing work around the home and simply listening to the fun soundtrack instead. Agreed on Flashpoint. If its any good, it would probably not be airing on Fridays but if it happens to be good, being on Fridays with a decent lead in like Numbers encores won't hurt it.

No need to be so bitter, mushi_jj. Warner is so pleased with how well Supernatural does in the overseas market they wanted to be sure and keep Kripke around. I can understand your confusion, though.
