I still say that Sundays at 8pm would have been better for the comedies. Then just air Amazing Race on Wednesdays.

I don't think a second helping of the comedies on Thursdays is really doing much.
Perhaps reairing the 1st season of Survivor might spark a little interest over the summer.
Only two more weeks of comedies on Thursdays. Then Greatest American Dog takes that time slot on July 10. However, it really makes you wonder how those comedies are going to do on Wednesday nights this Fall. CBS comedies seem to bomb out any night other than on Mondays.
You're probably right. Considering Old Christine is the oldest skewing CBS comedy it probably would have done well out of 60 Minutes.

I don't think the slide in ratings as reached its bottem yet. Its lost 2.5 million viewers in just 2 weeks. Expect lowers numbers next week. Say 5.25 million-ish
The drop between the 1st and second week can be explained by curiousity seekes and bible thumpers. The drop between last week and this week is not so easily explainable. One theory may be those who tuned in last week didn't see any actually Swinging or bedroom scenes and may actually have vanished because it wasn't racy enough. It's really too bad because the characters and storylines are interesting and you know what...it's NOT another CRIME drama!

True. Put it out of it's misery already. I used to enjoy it and now I can't stand it. (And I didn't think an actor could get worse over the years, but i'm affraid that's what's happened to Tom Welling)
I really hope SPN has it's five years and ends with dignity.
All I want is for one non crime drama to succeed on CBS(i'm sure they are hoping for the same). Just something different is all I want. I was rooting for Cane, I rooted for Swingtown (didn't root for Viva Laughlin because, well ,you saw why) CBS did try to bring something new in this year and it seems to be giving up on this project next year by the looks of it's new shows (except for Harpers Island in 09). It's going to hurt them eventually but for now the shows they have are strong enough to survive a bit longer.
Might be a good idea to switch flashpoint with Swingtown but they have to do it now since the premiere is only a few weeks away. My guess is they stuck it on Fridays because it's a Canadian series which may not have a life beyond one season?? Not sure. What I am sure of is it will fit in better with the CBS audience than Swingtown is. Too bad.

Maybe ratings are dropping for the same reason they dropped for Bionic Woman, and Pushing Daisies, and Cane, and K-Ville, and DSM, and Big Shots, and.... People just don't like the show.
It would be great for a non-crime show to succeed on CBS. I was really hoping Cane would work out with such a great cast and a workable concept (the writing sucked though...).

but doesn't the office do well for TBS? or is it that a couple of million looks really good on a basic cable channel
I got the impression that TBS gobbled up The Office as a 'loss leader'. They would have gotten a much better bang for their buck with George Lopez, Scrubs, or King of Queens.
A summer version of Cane, Bionic Woman, Pushing Daisies, DSM, etc... quote: Swingtown 6/06/08 – Viewers: 8.57 million (#2), A18-49: 2.8/ 8 (#2) 6/13/08 – Viewers: 7.00 million (#2), A18-49: 2.3/ 7 (#2) 6/20/08 – Viewers: 6.06 million (#1), A18-49: 2.1/ 6 (#1)
Exactly. But none of those shows had competition this weak. Which is the only thing allowing it to win its timeslot. File that under the heading of "Pyrrhic Victories".
Fear Itself had its best episode yet last night. Too bad NBC didnt air that episode first. Ratings wise; it's consistant but weak. However it did manage to build out of its horrible lead, Last Comic Standing, both in viewers and demo. Not horrible IMO.
