IMO both Shark and WMC should be renwed, these are 2 shows that didn't drop after the strike like most shows
both should be cancelled...both are losers
They both get good Numbers and WMC get better numbers on friday dont count it out just yet.

WMC is definately being cancelled. Shark is on thin ice also. There really isn't a reason to bring either back.

Despite of his appearance, it was an excellent ep, with wonderful performances by Chris Meloni and the departing Diane Neal.
You're very objective. So you think that a show like Moonlight should survive although it's getting 7-8 million viewers and a show like WMC that it's getting 8-9 million should be canceled. And let's not forget Moonlight airs sandwiched between two 10 million shows
Haha u tell her!!!!!!!

CBS - Shark is done. It could also be that CBS brings back neither Shark nor the Unit, but I think "The Unit” will at least get another 13. “The Unit” probably has a more stable fan base than Shark. Therefore, theoretically it is less likely to have the bottom suddenly fall out of its ratings.
For ABC to finish third yesterday and tied for second today in the demo, when they have DWTS on the schedule should be a huge blinking billboard that reads: "find something else to program after DWTS." Yes DWTS skews old but it still provides a +4 demo as a lead-in.
I guess SVU just got buried by the rest of NBC's "cable ready" primetime line-up.

With respect to CW shows:
I enjoyed watching Aliens in America, Reaper, Girlfriends, and ANTM this year.
ANTM is the only one guaranteed to come back next year. The show is getting long in the tooth, but CW needs it. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see some significant changes in the next season or two (new host or a format change to call in voting) as CW strives to keep their biggest asset going as long as possible.
Reaper deserves a second season based upon the ratings. No, it is not doing as well as Gossip Girl. Demos do matter. Still, Rreaper has more potential to grow than any other show on CW right now.
Aliens in America has very little chance of renewal becasue of the ratings. It is a very funny show, but doesn't fit with the African American shows or with not so funny EHC. Only the 'dad' has a new series for next year that would conflict with renewal. This show still has a chance for a second season, but only because CW has so much space to fill.
Girlfriends was set to conclude at the end of this season anyway, so its slightly early departure this season due to the WGA strike really has no bearing on next year.

Oh, Duel is getting cancelled also. The problem with WMC is the fact that ABC isn't putting a high priority on Fridays. With a lot of their second season shows coming back already, emphasis has to be spent on promoting them. Despite getting higher overall ratings than PD and DSM, ABC values those two shows higher and if need be, can be placed on Fridays. WMC is on the losing end. quote: Originally posted by Walter: quote: Originally posted by WlcmBlueBloodWorstEnemy: WMC is definately being cancelled. Shark is on thin ice also. Does anyone else think that reality shows are terrible lead-ins for scripted series? Of all the seasons of dancing and idol as the top shows... only house took off as a big hit and that took a few seasons to get going. bl was already established but seems to do worse after dancing than after housewives. reality fans and scripted fans are different groups. anyone agree?

You're now crowned the king of spins 2008. Check out the demos. 1.9 for WMC, in the middle of the week. Pretty lame, I'd say. And once again, you're taking things out of context. WMC is measured against BL (which spot it's occupying). As someone else already noted, WMC's performance pretty much guaranteed BL's return. Not to mention Moonlight airs Friday, WMC's numbers were for Tuesday. Apples and oranges. But spin it as much as you like. WMC failed last night, and pretty miserably.

If Shark Goes, so will The Unit. They perform very similar. The one thing that mught save them is the strike shortened development season. Perhaps both will get a 13 Episode order and split the same time slot. quote: Originally posted by WlcmBlueBloodWorstEnemy: WMC is definately being cancelled. Shark is on thin ice also. Read carefully what i write. I'm not comparing yesterday's result. I'm comparing what those two shows have done on Fridays. As far as i know ABC has nothing on Fridays so there are plenty of slots for WMC. And please don't compare WMC's numbers with Moonlight's numbers on fridays beacause Moonlight loses on every level. WMC has soundly beaten Moonlight in viewers and it has done similar numbers in demos although WMC does not have a 10 million lead-in. I understand why you're promoting the cancelation of WMC. You hope Moonlight won't be beaten if it returns next year.

Demos matter but GG isn't doing any better than Reaper in A18-49. The CW spin on female A12.5-17.4 or whatever demographic it was #2 on Monday is just that, spin. Oh, and if Reaper had 1/4 of the ads GG got for its return maybe it could have gained 0.1 in A18-49 too (what GG gained after all those millions spent, probably the budget for 10 AiA episodes).

Other than the problems with James Woods there is not a single reason to cancel Shark. Ir was getting good numbers after CSI, it still gets decent numbers on Sundays although with sports overruns it aired at very late hours. But then again there was not a single reason to cancel C2H also
