How is it quick? When the season was filmed, they did 2 versions of the season finale (one for a setup to another season and one as a series finale). Now, they are at a point where they have to air one of those two episodes. Seems to me they waited until the 'last second' to make a decision that was clear before the season ever started.

Well, one way to avoid widening the audience would be to do a spinoff/remake of Beverly Hills 90120. The very concept of the Austin Golden Hour seems infinitely more appealing.

That was quick in the sense that the second season has only 7 episodes. Why they've bothered to bring it back only for 7 episodes is beyond me.

They were trying to appease the 'nut' fans. Well, maybe they were just trying to prove a point to the fans since they very clearly said: 'Ok, here is your show back. Now, get more people to watch it or don't whine when it gets cancelled again.'

You were half right.

And the CW adds yet another "name" to the list of people they'll be working with next season. So I think they are trying to use these "names" to up their visibility. Which actually isn't a bad idea. I also think they are trying to widen their target audience in general. Which, also, isn't a bad idea. I think they're at a point where they can no longer be picky about who watches the network. Anybody new watching would be good.

To me, it sounds like a younger version of Third Watch, which used to be on NBC a couple of years ago. I loved that show. As for Reaper almost breaking the 3 million mark, interesting. I do not watch the show and I have nothing against it. If Reaper can break over 3 million viewers next week, I think it will get renewed. The CW schedule for next season will be interesting.
Peace!

Obviously more people disagree than agree with the statement you just made as Greys pulls in twice the audience of ER on average and close to 3x the demo.

While we're at it, they should have 3 seasons of Amazing Race per year, 40 eps of Family Guy, a full season for Unhitched, a public massacring of Grey's Izzie and George, a spinoff of Ugly Betty featuring Marc, Amanda, Justin, and Wilhelmina only, another season of October Road, another season of Notes from the Underbelly, a resurrection for Everwood, and a 5 year guarantee from ABC that Boston Legal will remain Tuesdays at 10 and that Dancing will be the lead in year round. There. That clears it all up a bit. quote: Originally posted by xwiseguyx: I hear ya! And what is perplexing to me is that all of my friends and family watch Paradise Hotel 2 and it really should be the number one show on TV based on that. Nobody I know watches Deal or No Deal and I think they should take it off the air immediately since the ratings system is obviously flawed. quote: Originally posted by a-mad: What is perplexing to me... all my co-workers, immediate family, friends and neighbors watch (or tape) both shows faithfully... yet I don't know a single one of them that are among the 14 - 18 million that watch NCIS or Criminal Minds (to name a few....)

Unless they are going to launch at least 4 or 5 new hours worth of stuff, the CW will have to renew it. They not only are dying on Sundays, but they're going to have 2 difficult hours to fill on Fridays. If I were them, I would try to fix Sundays and sacrifice Fridays.

I think Reaper was the biggest winner last night.
