Not enough to match the drop.
From the premiere to the Feb 28th airing (the last one we have Live+7 numbers on), Lost dropped 3.2 million in the Live+SD ratings (16.1-12.9) and 2.9 million in Live+7 ratings (17.8-14.9). No, it didn't lose quite as much when you include the Live+7, but it still lost nearly 3 million viewers in one month with little competition.
Just like any other show on the planet.. CSI lost 5 million viewers in just ONE WEEK. Season Premiere: 25.22 Second Episode: 20.97 The drop in the demo was even worse with 22% in the second week and 26% in the third week.
Well stated. These shows tend to fluxuate a lot and I believe Lost was in this range last year too.
First, lost_fan claimed that Lost's numbers weren't really going down because DVR numbers were going up. I simply demonstrated that the DVR numbers aren't increasing enough to counter the drop. Second, I never said that other shows did not drop (some did, some didn't) or that Lost had the biggest drop (certainly not the smallest either).

NBC renewed Life and Chuck... Heroes will last 5 seasons and likely longer.

as for lipstick jungle...i would say it was a winner...not a loser...up in ratings/demos/viewers with a so-so lead-in...
Lets wait if Heroes can reach a fourth season and then we talk.
Since you were just comparing Lost (season 4, no competition) to CSI (season 8, tough competition), it seems a bit odd for you to say that someone can't compare Lost and Heroes.

I think Lost was boring last night. It really added nothing to the overall story, and the hyped "death" was meaningless..
You cant follow a Sun/Jin centric episodes (which are always pointless and boring), with last nights episode. For the record, the writers should have killed off Jin/Sun in season 1..
As for Miss Guided, it was sort of intresting, but its no Big Bang Theory or 2.5 men. I think the biggest problem for Miss Guided is that most of the characters are not funny. Aside from the lead actress and the assistant principal, no one else is funny..
And then theres college basketball, the numbers never seem to reflect on the interest for march madness.

I don't think that's a valid point, because CSI opened so large this year on the season premiere just to see what happened to Sarah. We all knew that it wouldn't be getting 25 million a week.

Funny that Heigl said the writing sucks. I think she's the reason the show stinks lately. Her character, not to mention her in real life, is extremely annoying.
Before we get carried away in Heigl saying the writing sucks, which she didn't - let's clarify. She said that she thought it was an ill-advised decision for them to have George and Izzie become a couple. I don't think she commented on the show as a whole or any of the writing of the characters. She was talk about about one ill-conceived plot, which I think everyone agrees on. Way to inflate her comments!

Eh, either way I think she's terrible and that she's the worst character on the whole show. Only George rivals her in this.

Last week's episode of Smallville was one of the worst in the history of the show. Everyone, from critics to fans, was complaining about how bad it was, and counting all of the many, many ways it sucked.
When a show does an episode that bad, it's no surprise when a lot of fans don't tune in for the next episode, which is unfortunate if the next episode turns out to be good.

Of course, I should have realized that, seeing as you were quoting a post comparing the demo RATINGS and made no indication that you were changing the subject. Silly me.

CBS has nuked "Jericho."
Producers have been told the show is ending its run on the broadcast network, sources said.
CBS will air the season finale on Tuesday with an ending that helps give closure to fans.
After the first season concluded with an abrupt cut to black, fans famously inundated CBS with tens of thousands of pounds of peanuts to urge the network to continue the show. For the seven-episode second season, producers shot two endings ? one that leaves viewers in suspense for a third round, another that is more conclusive.
The ending that will air Tuesday night doesn't entirely slam the door on the series and is only slightly different from the cliffhanger version, sources said. The ending also doesn't preclude the possibility of "Jericho" finding a second life on cable, though the economics of the production will likely prevent a continuation of the show.
The most recent episodes of "Jericho" have averaged about a 1.9 rating among adults 18 to 49 during their Tuesdays at 10 p.m. time period.
CBS declined comment, though a formal announcement is expected later today.

Your loss. best show on TV by far.

The problem with Smallville is that ratings usually take dips after exceptionally crappy episodes. Last week's hour-long Stride Gum commercial did the show no favors. It's really too bad, as last night's episode was one of the best in the show's history... and then gets only 3.41 million viewers. Hopefully people who liked last night's will be back for episode #15. Unfortunately, then the CW does 2 or 3 weeks of repeats, and repeats almost always hurt the show. Sigh.
