Reaper does seem to skew a whole lot older on Thursdays than it did on Tuesdays. It will be interesting to see if that continues with Lost not on firstrun the next couple of weeks.

I mean seriously the 18-34 damn demo is what Dawn is aiming for. And Supernatural's two episodes with almost the same viewer total (the 2.95 range) both managed a 1.2 and a 1.3. Hell its lowest rated episode at 2.65 managed a 1.1 in that demo.
So, the Futile Four is set and it's all NBC programs:
[#3] Heroes (NBC) [#4] 30 Rock (NBC) [#7] Scrubs (NBC) (upsetting the #2 seed Grey's Anatomy (ABC) for the second year in a row!) [#8] Deal or No Deal (NBC) (upsetting the #1 seed and defending 2006-07 overrated champion American Idol (FOX))
Please vote for your overrated "favorites" now!
Also, I'm taking suggestions for the second annual Lemon Awards, celebrating the worst in television this season.

So a .8 is really, really bad.
Well, if your intent is to turn this into a 'proof' of Supernatural's value, that 1.1 low for Supernatural was out of a 1.8 lead-in from Smallville. The lead-in this week was only 1.5 in the 18-34 demo. Thus, the drop from the lead-in was the same in magnitude. Smallville, even in its weakness this year, is still far more valuable in the demo than either Supernatural or Reaper.
Smallville is useless as a lead in though. SPN got a higher 18-34 demo following a rerun of itself at the 8 o'clock hour than it's gotten behind Smallville all year. Completely different audiences. SPN never has a commensurate audience drop when Smallville begins its annual spring plummet. Smallville will drop 300,000 viewers week to week, and SPN only drops 40,000. They're completely independent of each others' fortunes. I could just kick Kripke for petitioning the network to go to Thursdays in the first place. Let Reaper have the Thursday spot against fresh CSIs, Grey's and episodes of the Office. Let it try to compete for whatever younger viewers are left after Greys and The Office suck them up. Let Reaper face the 16 million strong Lost premiere. It can have the holy grail of Thursdays behind Smallville. I want Tuesdays back. I'm sick of Thursdays at 9. Even Thursdays at 8 would be a blessing.
But....Supernatural will probably be stuck Thursdays at 9 next season, too. A Supernatural/Reaper combo Tuesdays is too much to ask.

I should probably have more pity for Reaper because I rather like the series, but I would be remiss in not pointing out that Veronica Mars never rated so poorly in A18-34, not even for her final five which were all up against fresh episodes of American Idol and/or House:
The CW is going to put itself right out of business continuing to focus on the 18-34 demo. Those people don't even know it exists for the most part. If CW is still on the air in ten years, I'll be surprised.

It's a demo I rarely pay attention to and general only watch for the 18-48 demo. THe only exception is for Supernatural. So I was very surprised on what Reaper got. Thats why I even asked for a confirmation about this week's results. Because I simply couldn't believe it.
But after checking Reaper's ratings for the season, I realize that an .8 is below its average. It isn't the lowest it has gotten (though close).
If I wanted to try and compare them to show how teh show I like moer (though I like both and I want both back next season) I would do this.
Just to compare it when the Strike has had a major impact on the competition, and with original episodes of both shows and with an original lead in.
Reaper has had two weeks only of data to compare (and that could change), in fact it should certainly increase this week as this week will be a 9pm Thursday with the least amount of competition since the CW started for an night of original episodes. So hopefully Reaper will spike. THe only thing that would be an easier night is a presidential address.
But out of those two weeks. 3/13 Smallville 1.7 to Reaper's .9 a hold of 52.9% 3/20 Smallville 1.5 to Reaper's .8 a hold of 53%.
Both are below Reaper's average 18-34 rating which I think is .96 for the full season.
Supernatural 1/31 Smallville 1.6 to Supernaturals 1.2 a hold of 75% 2/07 Smallville 1.8 to Supernatural 1.1 a hold of 61% 2/14 Smallville 1.6 to Supernatural 1.3 a hold of 81%
Weeks' 1/31 and 2/14 have very similar total viewers for Supernatural and this weeks Reaper. 2.95 and 2.97 versus Reaper's 2.94. Though in both cases Reaper does have a better percentage hold of viewers with Smallville. Though in both cases both the 8pm and 9pm periods had more total viewers watching the other networks then this week with Reaper, so who knows.
Based on the data so far (and again this should change with this week's episode) Supernatural (during the closest situations that effect both) clearly performs better in that demo (a demo I wish the netlet wasn't so focused on). And thats even with its worst performance of the year in that demo.
