Here is an interesting article about the IATSE president calling the WGA leadership “a huge clown car that’s only missing the hats and horns.” It looks like the WGA is starting to piss of the union because they want to include reality and animation workers into the guild, but most of them are already being covered by IATSE.
I'm also surprised BROTHERS & SISTERS didn't make the top 5. Maybe if they looked the median income of $100K, we'd see BL and B&S.

$63,000 — This is the median income for homes that watched ABC's Big Shots, Dirty Sexy Money and Private Practice. Only NBC's The Office ($73,000) and its lead-out Scrubs ($68,000) are higher. TV critics asked ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson last summer why so many of the characters on his new shows are rich people. Well, this is why. Advertisers like to reach rich people.
TV guide 'high income' numbers are based upon households that watch ceretain shows. Advertisers don't really care about that number. TVGuide should put out a list of the top10 shows for high income viewers based upon the 'C3' viewing data. It really doesn't mean anything to have high income viewers if those viewers aren't actually sitting through the commercials.
As for Friday Night Lights: when they get down to just the one viewer and he makes over 100K, they can advertise having the highest percentage of high income viewers for any show in the history of television. This is a case where having the 'highest percentage' doesn't mean much of anything. The shows with a higher total of high income viewers are the ones that the advertisers want.

There is only 1 reaction one can have to this announcement from ABC:
Well cycle 12 of the Amazing Race continues to performer higher. Both in week to week comparisons (last year 11.40 million viewers, including the season finale), to this years 11.83.
It also outperforms it if you compare first 6 episodes of the cycle (season 10 10.86 and again 11.83 for this cycle).
And it remains the 3rd most watched season of AR, with only season 6 and 7 averaging more viewers.
And its one of the few CBS shows to show year to year gains for this season (hell its one of the few shows overall with year to year gains).
So a nice thank you to CBS in there infinite wisdom for not green lighting 2 cycles. After all, its not like you didn't think a strike might happen and might need some descent performers from reality/ game/ and news shows to help.
And while they did finally green light season 13. If filming doesn't start in January it won't be finished in time for a late march start to finish out the regular season (though they could run it during the summer to what should be a considerable smaller audience.

I wish rather than releasing this pointless crap no one cares about that they'd release a midseason schedule already!
Would there be a reason they couldn't start filming and airing the show at the same time? Perhaps give filming a 3-4 week head start and then load up a little on the editing side to get the early episodes ready for the air.

That is what I think. If it is ready by say the middle of April, go ahead and start it anyways. You would have 6 weeks of it during the season and then conclude it in early June. I'm not sure if there is an issue with the advertisers given the show concluding after the season?
I wonder if CBS will do a Summer Big Brother or skip the show forward to the Summer of 2009?
