It was a Tuesday of mixed leadership, with NBC the most-watched network (270,000 viewers ahead of ABC) and NBA-ignited ABC No. 1 among adults 18-49. The third season-premiere of America’s Got Talent on NBC was off and successfully running, with a healthy 12.76 million viewers and a 3.7 rating/11 share among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m. Take a look at the half-hour breakdown:

Comparably, America’s Got Talent built from lead-in Deal or No Deal (Viewers: #1: 8.66 million; A18-49: #3, 2.1/ 7) by a hefty 4.10 million viewers and 76 percent in the demo.
ABC aired another primetime installment of Jimmy Kimmel Live at 8 p.m., followed by the NBA Countdown and game six of the Lakers/Celtics match-up. But since part of the NBA Finals is included in the 8 p.m. hour in the Central Time Zone, what follows is ABC’s performance by half-hour:

But CBS’ annual AFI special, themed AFI’s 10 Top 10, sunk to an historical low 5.55 million viewers (#4) and a 1.3/ 4 among adults 18-49 (#4). One year earlier, AFI’s 100 Years…100 Movies averaged 7.71 million viewers and a 1.9/ 6 in the demo on the less competitive Wednesday, June 20, 2007.
Capping off the evening were repeats of the CW’s Beauty and the Geek (Viewers: #5, 1.24 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 2) and Reaper (Viewers: #5, 1.53 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1).
