----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
Fox led this third Wednesday in June, with another two-hour edition of So You Think You Can Dance at 8.73 million viewers and a 3.2 rating/10 share among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that is close to year-ago levels.

Second overall was NBC with a 90-minute edition of Deal or No Deal (Viewers: 8.25 million; A18-49: 2.1/ 7 from 8-9:30 p.m.) and a 90-minute edition of week two of Celebrity Circus (Viewers: 5.72 million; A18-49: 2.0/ 6 from 9:30-11 p.m.). Compared to it’s year-ago debut (Viewers: 6.52 million; A18-49: 2.3/ 7 on June 11, 2008), Celebrity Circus dipped by 800,000 viewers and 13 percent in the demo. Take a look at the half-hour breakdown for both shows:

Deal or No Deal (NBC)
8:00 p.m. Viewers: 6.80 million (#2), A18-49: 1.7/ 6 (#2)
8:30 p.m. Viewers: 7.78 million (#2), A18-49: 2.0/ 6 (#2)
9:00 p.m. Viewers: 10.16 million (#1), A18-49: 2.7/ 8 (#2)

Celebrity Circus (NBC)
9:30 p.m. Viewers: 6.21 million (#3), A18-49: 2.0/ 6 (#2)
10:00 p.m. Viewers: 5.71 million (#2), A18-49: 2.0/ 6 (#1)
10:30 p.m. Viewers: 5.26 million (#2), A18-49: 1.9/ 6 (#2)

Overall retention for Celebrity Circus out of the last half-hour of Deal or No Deal was just 56 percent in total viewers and 74 percent among adults 18-49. Could be better!

CBS had nothing unusual to report with its encore combination of The Price is Right (Viewers: #3, 5.65 million; A18-49: #4, 1.2/ 4), Criminal Minds (Viewers: #3, 7.19 million; A18-49: #3t, 1.7/ 5) and CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 8.00 million; Viewers: #2, 1.9/ 6).

ABC aired a repeat of Wife Swap (Viewers: #4, 4.54 million; A18-49: #3, 1.7/ 6) and two repeat episodes of Supernanny as follows:

Supernanny R (ABC)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 4.50 million (#4), A18-49: 1.7/ 5 (#3t)
10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 4.35 million (#3), A18-49: 1.7/ 5 (#3)

And cellar-dweller the CW capped off the evening with a repeat of America’s Next Top Model (Viewers: #5, 1.31 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 2) and an original installment of Farmer Wants a Wife (Viewers: #5, 2.31 million; A18-49: #5, 0.9/ 3). Growth for Farmer Wants a Wife out of the Top Model encore of one million viewers and 80 percent among adults 18-49 is worth noting.

Amazing the amount of people that tuned out when CELEBRITY CIRCUS came on. It's so bad that they would rather join a repeat of CRIMINAL MINDS already in progress?

I'm looking forward to the results for tommorow to see how SWINGTOWN will do with no NBA finals.
Surely people would rather watch this entertaining new show than a repeat of GREY'S ANATOMNY. It's already handily beating FEAR ITSELF so I really hope it wins the number one spot for the 10PM Hour.

If you haven't watched it I encourage you to sample it. SWINGTOWN is a worthwhile effort by CBS this summer.

Just a quick comment on the blurb above abotu DSM. It in my opinon was the WORST new show of last year and now ABC seems to recongize that by ditching its show runner for a new one. A lot of people on this board posted how bad BIG SHOTS was compared to DSM and now the BS show runner is running DSM. Karma...yes definately.

Odd that 2.5 million people all of a sudden decided to tune into DOND during the last half hour

Marc,

Just wondering what the percentages where like for One Year Ago, 5 Years Ago, 10 years Ago and even 20 Years Ago? Would be fun to see stats on that topic.

To Me it seems like there is more original programming (not always better programming) this year than in years past, including last summer.

People want to watch Farmer Wants a Wife? Crazy. Perhaps decent summer filler.

It may take the NBC version a couple of extra episodes to get there, but these numbers are about as bad as CBS's Secret Talent of the Stars. That shows ONE airing grabbed a small 4.580 million viewers and just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demo.

Which show is worse?
Celebrity Circus
or
Secret Talent of the Stars?

With numbers like that (better than most other series on the CW) it would be good for Fall & Spring Filler.

NBC's version is still .5 ahead in the demo. Besides, even this week's 5.72 million, 2.0 will probably still put it in NBC top 5 shows in both viewers and demo.

I watch it, and its not that bad. It's better then most dating shows. It has some funny parts to it as well. I think next week it will have 2.5 million viewwers, because its the season/series finale. The CW should definetly renew it.

Celebrity Circus is more demo skewing than Deal or no Deal.

As for the show itself, I haven't watched it and don't plan to.

Farmer Wants A Wife should definately come back mid-season. It is a great show that is doing very well for CW.

As for Celebrity Circus, as I said before, 10 PM is too late for a circus show geared towards familes and kids. That being said, the numbers aren't disasterous. If it was an hour show from 9 to 10 PM, the numbers would be decent.

The numbers for Celebrity Circus aren't that bad. Celebrity Circus will probably settle in around the low 6 million low 2 demo mark which is certainly better than Secret Talent of the Stars was going to do.
