-Yesterday’s Winners: Two and a Half Men R (CBS), Deal or No Deal (NBC), CSI: Miami R (CBS)
-Yesterday’s Losers (Excluding Repeats): Canterbury’s Law (Fox), My Dad is Better Than Your Dad (NBC), October Road (ABC), Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: There is not much you can say when the top-rated network averages below 10 million viewers. On that note, CBS opened this second Monday of March first in both total viewers and adults 18-49, followed by NBC.
In series-premiere news, Fox legal drama Canterbury’s Law (headlined by the riveting Julianna Margulies) got off to an older skewing start, with 7.62 million viewers (#2) and a fourth-place 1.7 rating/5 share among adults 18-49 (#4). One year earlier, a repeat of House averaged 9.69 million viewers and a 3.5/10 in the demo. Needless to say, this is a very bad start for Canterbury’s Law.
Canterbury’s Law led into the time period premiere of New Amsterdam, which rose to 8.78 million viewers (#3) and a 2.5/ 6 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 9 p.m. But year-ago occupant 24 was considerably stronger at 12.39 million viewers and a 4.6/11 in the demo. Regardless, the growth out of Canterbury’s Law is still worth positively noting for New Amsterdam.
CBS opened the evening with a repeat of How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #3, 6.64 million; A18-49: #2, 2.2/ 7), followed by an 8:30 p.m. installment of The New Adventures of Old Christine (Viewers: #3, 7.45 million; A18-49: #1, 2.7/ 7), a repeat of Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #1, 11.74 million; A18-49: #1, 3.8/10), the regularly scheduled edition of Old Christine (Viewers: #2, 9.43 million; A18-49: #1t, 3.3/ 8) and a repeat of CSI: Miami (Viewers: #1, 10.20 million; A18-49: #2, 2.7/ 7).
Next Monday on CBS, it is a night of all original sitcoms beginning with addictive The Big Bang Theory now at 8 p.m.
NBC began on a quiet note care of reality/competition My Dad is Better Than Your Dad at 6.86 million viewers (#4) and a 2.1/ 6 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 8 p.m. But Deal or No Deal, now in the Monday 9 p.m. hour, perked up to 11.64 million viewers (#1) and a 3.0/ 8 among adults 18-49 (#2) from 9-10 p.m. -- a considerable improvement from lead-in My Dad is Better Than Your Dad. Capping off the evening for NBC was drama Medium, with 9.22 million viewers (#2) and a 2.9/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#1) at 10 p.m. Considering Medium faced an encore telecast of CSI: Miami, this is disappointing.
ABC 8 p.m. special The Bachelor: Where Are They Now? got some sampling, with a dominant 7.71 million viewers and a 2.6/ 8 in the demo. But the final two episodes of drama October Road dipped to a mere 4.70 million viewers and a 1.8/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m., ultimately sealing its fate.
Last was the CW’s combination of a repeat of the already renewed Gossip Girl (Viewers: 1.19 million; A18-49: 0.5/ 1), which the network is hoping will pick up steam next season, and reality/competition Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (Viewers: 1.68 million; A18-49: 0.8/ 2), which is about to lose this time period to the soon-to-relocate One Tree Hill. Chances are there will not be a third season for Pussycat Dolls.
The demo # for NA isn't promising. They do not have a hit in the making here.
They may, however, have a better placeholder for the timeslot than SCC is ever likely to be, given that even a two hour season finale couldn't do much better in the demo, and did worse in total viewers.

WOW! What a difference the demo numbers can make -- CL went from promising to loser in one fell swoop! That 1.8 is very low, especially for a FOX show with a decent size audience!

Hopefully this will be the last we hear about October road. R.I.P. I am definitely looking forward to Miss Guided. I am a huge Judy Greer fan, i just wish abc was sampling the show after each of its Dancing shows next week instead of the one.

I hope OR is not dead, great cliffhanger finale. Kristin, though not the most relable source says that if ABC cancels it the CW or Lifetime are interested in picking it up.

Unless someone associated with OR has extremely good blackmail material against Iger, I seriously doubt ABC will renew it.

God, i hate the demos
NA still has a chance with the 2.5 and since it held its viewers close to Thursday's post-Idol episode. But CL's numbers don't belong on FOX -- perhaps CBS might be interested in it...

There's no chance that ABC will renew it -- its only chance for survival is a move to the CW or cable (ABC Family, Lifetime, etc).
