I've outputted a game of the original P.I. Feedback Challenge every week (with the exception of the summer of 2008) since Thanksgiving weekend of 2006. This weekend marks the 100th game of the Challenge. (Does this mean it'll now go into syndication? Big Grin)

Click on the PIFC logo below to access the current games available,
including the new PIFC Weekly Game #100

Incentive to play Game #100: If we reach the 30-player level for Game #100, I'll post the Top 30 TV markets for the next 100+ hours of television (Feb. 13 morning shows until Feb. 17 late night offerings) I'm also still accepting "Fan Appreciation" requests.

TV ratings data for the Academy Awards since 1953 now online! Check them out now!

So, CBS as the most watched network in America did not disappoint. The season premiere of Survivor did great numbers especially when you factor it history of having a weaker rated spring cycle. 9 years, 18 seasons.... time flies by doesn't it? The great thing about Survivor is that as its ratings go down over the next few years, CBS can cut it down to one cycle per year and that should work out well. CBS can breathe as CSI is clearly not down and is stabilizing. I think next year will the most important to CSI. Will the viewers stay? Eleventh Hour is a very big disappointment but as someone did mention, if CBS decided to shell out a few more bucks, they can put original programming on Saturday.
Notable is the fact that CBS had about twice the viewers of NBC but still got beat in the 18-34 demo (by .6). I guess that's not surprising though is it?

FOX with their NAACP Awards didn't make a big splash but it usually doesn't. Is FOX contractually bound to air the NAACP Award show? Things will be tough for everyone as Bones and hell's Kitchen comes back although I think FOX is really abusing the fact that Bones had such a strong audience. This timeslot, no that one. Wait.... this one? Really? It airs this week, not next week, oh two weeks? Ok.

ABC dominated in the demos. Ugly Betty isn't do so well right now. My Name is Earl has been beating it in the demo for a while. The Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice crossover is paying off. But seriously, THREE straight weeks of crossoverness? It looks like PP hit a series high? I have to say, their 18-34 demo is really strong. A 6.1 and 5.8? That's ginormous right there. Ugly betty will probably be back for at least on more season but it might be time for ABC to move it. I wonder how ratings for PP and GA are gonna work out after the crossover is done. Apparently a lot of you guys think PP is a better then current GA and GA ratings was pretty low for a while. I wonder if PP viewers will stay or go to another show... ER?

NBC did okay. My Name is Earl and Kath & Kim are very weak in viewers but aren't horrible in the demo. All that said, K&K is going away. One and done. The Office had an usually bump from last week. Shouldn't the bump be there the airing after the Superbowl, not the week after it? 30 Rock was the surprise last night. 82% retention in the 18-49 demo and 79% retention in the 18-34 demo. The Office's 4.6/5.4 demo and 30 Rock's 3.8/4.3 (18-49 and 18-34 demo respectively) lifted NBC up. ER was relatively flat compared to last week but I think with the ABC crossover thing ending soon, ER will get stronger. Plus, in the week after the crossover ends (2 weeks from now) Noah Wyle comes back. To answer you Marc, yes I am excited that George Clooney is coming back but its not just George. There is Julianna Margulies, Shane West and others. To me, ER is without a doubt one of if not the best medical drama show.

The CW aired repeats. They didn't do too shabby.

Its been a long time since I've posted picture of the night's ratings stars since some of my readers have requested that I post pictures. I've decided to do a special edition where I'll post the TOP 8 young female stars during the months of February. Most of these actresses will be heard from for a long time.

BlueLick's rising female stars of the month

Shailene Woodley (SLOTAT, ABC FAM, MON), Missy Peregrym (Reaper, CBS/CW, TUE), AnnaLynne McCord (90210, CBS/CW, TUE)
Demi Lovato (Sonny, ABC/DIS, SUN), Lucy Hale (Privileged, CBS/CW, TUE)
Amanda Righetti (TM, CBS, TUE), Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse, FOX, FRI), Olivia Wilde (House, FOX, MON)

Let me start off with America's Most Watched Network CBS since 1998. Survivor is definitely still a strong beast, but its test has yet to come when the showdown between Bones and Survivor starts next week. These two shows will battle at 8pm big time for first and second place in viewers and demos. Survivor might have the overall advantage in the demo, but viewers may switch sometimes as you're going to see Survivor with some series lows throughout the rest of the season. Every network has its own powerhouse reality show scoring over 10 million viewers and doing power numbers in the demo. CBS has Survivor, FOX has Idol, ABC has The Bachelor, and NBC has the fat people favorite Biggest Loser.

CSI: has proven its not going anywhere anytime soon unless the producers want to end it. Grissom was the final test for the series of the decade to show its strength as a series. Fishburne was a great acquisition and he's actually made it more better. I think the other characters now get a chance to get out of Grissom's shadow and that will help it out in the long run. 11th Hour has been a disappointment, but the show still scores well enough to live somewhere else on the schedule next season. I've got a feeling the anticipated Harper's Island work as well as 11th Hour does.

Up next is ABC where we had a dominating two hour performance by medical drama veteran Grey's Anatomy and all the sudden getting hot Private Practice. There are going to be plenty of new medical dramas coming out next season to takeover for ER and may become the new destination for medical genre fans alike. This was the perfect time for PP to come out of GA although it should've been done years ago when GA was really hot hit buzzer. PP is proving as long as you find the right fit and sometimes it takes years for some shows that it can score well. ABC better leave PP right there permanently.

UB is a disgrace and its run is almost over. If it wasn't for syndication there will be no need to bring it back next season. UB was only hot during its first season and that's it. Its gotten old and childish. Let's see it end right now!

The loser in the CSI: vs Grey's battle has been GA for about the last two years now. I knew it!

I completely burned NBC Thursday last week so I won't be talking about it this week. Its the same old shit every week. Low ratings and no laughs except from the axe waiting to cut them off air. Wonder if NBC is going to make an attempt at bring back a traditional sitcom next season?

ER is getting crushed by PP right now with that same audience. ER may need to think about moving, but I'm not sure when the next time PP is running reruns. The best written drama on TV the last two decades running will be missed especially by NBC.

FOX aired the NCAAP Awards and I'm not sure FOX was expecting too much out of it, but it shouldn't had given the night away like that when Bones and Hell's Kitchen was doing well.

The CW hasn't shut down like MyNetworkTV did yet?

The CW Thursday even does better than everyone of their other shows in repeats. The CW should be thanking themselves for having Smallville and Supernatural still.

You can find Supernatural star Jared Padalecki as the male lead on Friday the 13th in theaters everywhere right now.

TONIGHT:
Tonight is one of the bigger Fridays in a longtime at both the theaters and on the small screen. The results from both the box office and ratings report tomorrow should be an interesting one.

Folks you've got your usual helpings of CBS and SD!, but now things get interesting where Dollhouse will make its anticipated debut out of T:SCC living on its last legs. Can Joss Whedon break Dollhouse into the next big Friday Night showcase or destination for core viewers like he did with Buffy and Angel in the late 90s on other nights. Or will it be the next Firefly disappointment for FOX. Let's see it should be interesting. Hopefully Eliza Dushku can carry this show as she is much a bigger star now than she was back in '03 when Tru Calling was out.

There is a lot of worry from Dollhouse fans that Jason being so big tonight in the theaters might be a big threat towards the premiere rating. Not sure about it, but I'll take it into account when I see the ratings tomorrow. I got a chance to see Friday the 13th at midnight last night and the crowd was great making a great atmosphere for the movie. I miss the fans wearing the old hockey masks on the street. The movie's been getting favorable reviews from fans and critics. The movie was definitely one of the best horror remakes of all-time. It definitely lived up to the hype and it was great to see Amanda Righetti act so well in the movie along with Danielle Panabaker. I'm going to see it again with my other friends tomorrow. Wonder how crazy it'll be tonight.

Again, The CW still hasn't shut down its network like MyNetworkTV did?

Nice to read your column Bluelick. Its interesting to read another column other then Marc's around here (That is to say not taking anything away from Marc of course)

ABC's powerhouse reality show is actually Dancing with the Stars but yeah... The Bachelor doing very well.

If that's the case, I see "Eleventh Hour" going the route of "Shark" - 2 seasons and out. "Eleventh Hour" is a dreadful show.

Does look interesting. Maybe it combines the element of an ongoing plot, like the reality competition shows, with the genre of crime, which CBS knows all about. However, its finale airs on the Thursday before Independence Day. I doubt that finale will even reach 6 million then but I hope I'm wrong. Hope the show is good.

Moving? It's about to end soon. You so crazy!

As for your latter statement... HBO's "The Wire," HBO's "The Sopranos," and ABC's "Lost" are above NBC's "ER" but for the 1990s "ER" definitely the tops.

That awards show does about the same in the ratings each year. Actually, it used to air on Friday nights before last year.

I know I do. Smallville's still a good show even in its 8th season! Amazing.

No, because they still have to find more actors to film more "Friday the 13th" and "Halloween" remakes!

BlueLick, thanks for your post. I enjoy reading them and enjoy responding to them even more! Big Grin

By the way, any show or market in particular you'd like to know its ratings?

This is going to be a useless post but I'm just wondering, how do you quote someone like that and have your comments outside of the quote box? Every time I've tried that, what I type is lost within the quote. Thanks in advance.

Watch UGLY BETTY THURSDAYS 8pm eastern on ABC

It seems everyone complains when they cancel these great shows or shows we love. Hey I got an IDEA trying watching and supporting them. A true fan supports there show thru the good and bad. I mean no matter how much they switch a shows timeslot I continue to watch it. This to me is a TRUE fan.

You sure you're not a Cubs fan? Big Grin

"Ugly Betty" to me is still watchable, but this critic doesn't seem to think so:

I guess all you have to do is swap out "Heroes'" name with with "Ugly Betty's", re-write two paragraphs, and there's your article. Another reason why newspapers are dying...

I agree. Is this show cancelled yet? It wasn't even in the Top 20 shows for the week. I think it finished in the low 30's. And after it aired out of the Super Bowl. How very disappointing. What a total flop. One of the biggest flops to ever get the post-Super Bowl slot. NBC should cancel this. Flop.

"Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."

Wow! Game #100. That is quite an accomplishment and it is great to see this wonderfully fun addition to this website still going strong.

Side note: I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sunday's Daily game features The Simpsons. I think people will be tuning in to see the first episode in HD (complete with a new introduction for this everlasting animated show).

I just like to raise a glass in toast of the granddaddies of the industry:

The Simpsons: 20 Years!
Law & Order: 19 Years!
ER: 15 years!
