Does anyone think CBS could not bring back Eleventh Hour? It doesn't seem like many like it and it may only be surviving because of CSI in front of it. I know it's going off early to accomidate Harpers Island but is this a show that CBS wants to continue to stick with ? You can't argue the numbers as a whole are good but not overwhelming and the quality of the show doesn't dictate a long term hit.
If this were clicking it would have never been hiatused for HARPERS'S ISLAND.
The quality is undermined, in my view, because the lead characters never found their voice and were stiff. Also, there is not nearly as much interest in this type of content as various networks think.

That 30 Rock boost seems to have come from out of nowhere. Best ratings since the Oprah episode, and surprisingly strong retention out of The Office -- especially up against new episodes of Grey's & CSI.
It's always good to see SURVIVOR in the winner's column. Can't imagine Thursday nights with out it.
Few impressions. TYSON is not cool showing off his equipment to the women on Day 2. Bad creepy vibe about him.
OLDER HILLBILLY Woman=Crazy & not to bright either-immeiatdly flunks the social game...why the crew voted off the amazingly endowed Carolina and kept her mystifies.
COACH-I actually flinched when I saw his name given as Coach in the credits. How about a real name Coach? You trying to be Dreamz? Then he was pompous to boot.
Everybody else...to early to tell though the National Guard Afghan Vet could be an early favorite.
And wow to Private Practice - too bad their couldn't be a crossover every week. But very impressive numbers. ABC hasn't had a lead-out do that well out of Grey's Anatomy ever. And who knows - maybe some of those extra viewers will stick around for good. Ugly Betty, on the other hand, needs to go. I'd even think about giving it a new timeslot for next season.
And PP doesn't even have to remotely approach last nite's numbers to retain the time slot.
Something as low as a steady 3.5, which it will probably end up exceeding as time goes on, should put to rest the question of what to air in this hour. Move on to some other problems, network.

I think the odds are against 11h returning. If CBS was willing to spend the money, 11H would be perfect for ORIGINAL programming for Saturdays. Its the type of show that IS and may watch if nothing else is on, but is not appointment TV.
Wishful Saturdays in fall 09 8pm - Cold Case 9pm - 11h 10pm - WAT
Wont happen, but these shows have decent numbers, but not strong numbers for CBS

Originally posted by Julie: ER - it's been declining lately, and with the series finale approaching, shouldn't it be going the opposite direction?
ER is likely being hurt by the GA/PP crossover. However, that is done and ER will have Noah Wyle (Dr. John Carter) back for the next 5 weeks, so maybe ER can pull some of those wandering eyes back into focus.

The Mentalist will be CBS's highest rated show of the week.
Maybe in the all-UN-important viewer number, but just last night both CSI and Survivor beat The Mentalist.
Does anyone think the 10pm ratings may be affected by Burn Notice some. That show has been getting in the mid 5 millions and I think has a demo in the mid 2s since its return in January. That's pretty good for a cable show.
Its not hard to figure out. These shows, especially 30 Rock, are impacted by Hell's Kitchen. Last week was the first time original episodes faced Hell's Kitchen and bother were down. This week, no Hell's Kitchen, both were up and, in 30 Rock's case, way up.

Although Carolina was very, very nice to watch, you can't be bossy and bark out orders on Day 1. You would think that after 17 editions that these people would have learned what NOT to do.

Although I have not seen abc' In the motherhood', I feel abc is wasting a golden opportunity to put on an hour of live studio audience comedies in the pre Greys time slot. I miss the traditional comedies and I feel that I am not alone. I wonder how well cbs would do if it were to move Big Bang to thurs. at 8.
